OG Anunoby contributed 19 points and seven rebounds to Toronto, which played without Fred VanVleet (non-COVID illness), Pascal Siakam (abdominal strain) and Gary Trent (hip).

The Raptors ended a six-game losing streak against the Pistons, the fourth in 13 games since Dwyane Casey was sacked from Toronto and crossed the border to lead Detroit.

Rookie Jayden Ive scored 21 points for Detroit, which lost its fourth straight game. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 18 points.

Detroit trailed by as many as 14 points before Jimedu Diallo hit two free throws with 7:37 left to close the gap to 94-93. Banton hit a three-pointer to give the Raptors a six-point lead with 4:54 left, followed by a 103-100 lead on a three-pointer from Isaiah Livers.

But the Pistons made a key turnaround — their 19th game — and missed their 12th free throw, slowing their rally.

Casey adjusted his lineup, teaming up with two big men, Isaiah Stewart and Marvin Bagley III, and using Sadiq Bay as the scorer on the bench. However, Stewart played only 13 minutes before leaving with a sprained right foot.
