The nobleman has an auspicious face, but it is too late: Nazarbayev was framed in his early years, and someone behind the scenes rescued him

In 1984, Nazarbayev was elected Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an appointment made by the Soviet leadership in Moscow, and Kazakhstan's top brass had the power to advise but could not ultimately influence the candidate.

After Nazarbayev became prime minister, he showed an aggressive personality, which made Kunaev, the number one in Kazakhstan at the time, very dissatisfied. Kunaev wanted an obedient prime minister, but Moscow's appointment he could not change. However, after Gorbachev officially took power, Kunayev always wanted to remove Nazarbav from power, neither finding an opportunity nor seeing Nazarbav's supporters.

1. Contradictions

After Nazarbayev became prime minister, his limelight was worried by the first SJ Kunaev. After all, in Kazakhstan, Kunayev has the final say and controls the interest groups at all levels of Kazakhstan. Nazarbayev's prominence is bound to cause Kunaev's dissatisfaction.

In September 1985, Nazarbayev sent a memorandum to his superior, Kunaev, recommending a major clean-up of Organization D. If the clean-up is carried out, many corrupt officials will certainly be investigated and punished, and some incompetent cadres will also be dismissed.

After seeing this memorandum, Kunaev was surprised, he realized that Nazarbayev had opened a knife on himself. So he called him to ask: What do you want me to do with these ideas?

Nazarbayev bluntly told Kunaev: immediately convene a meeting of all regional heads to solve this problem.

Kunaev looked at the young prime minister in front of him, who did not speak for a long time, and told Nazaryev that they have been working together for 6 years, and they should know that Moscow has a good impression of Kazakhstan, and if the party members are cleaned up, this good impression will be broken. It is possible that Kazakhstan was the first country in the Soviet Union to launch a clean-up campaign.

Nazarbayev and Kunaev

Nazarbayev continued to carry out the clean-up work and carried out a "cleaning" of Kazakh cadres, but Nazarbayev found that his power in policy implementation and personnel appointment and dismissal was suddenly stuck, and he realized that this resistance came from Kunaev.

In November 1985, Nazarbayev met with Gorbachev on the occasion of a meeting in Moscow, and he reported directly to the old Ge that Kunayev did not support his work. After Gorbachev learned of the contradictions between Naku, he encouraged Nakhov to rise to the challenge and fight Kunaev. He believed that these old diehards hated not only Lao Na but also him, so Gorbachev suggested fighting these old leaders.

Gorbachev was trying to introduce reforms, and he was unhappy with the older leaders and wanted to replace these conservative forces. And young people like Nazarbayev are exactly the backbone that Gorbachev needs.

In February 1986, the struggle between Nazarbayev and Kunaev reached a fever pitch. Kazakhstan held a DDH, Nazarbayev locked himself in his office for several days and nights, many people thought that Lao Na was preparing a speech, there would be news, but when submitting the speech, no special was found.

In fact, Lao Na is already preparing real revelations and is ready to fire directly at Kunaev at the meeting. According to DDH regulations throughout the Soviet Union, under normal circumstances, the prime minister's speech was a flicker of the report of the First SJ. But Nazarbayev criticized Kunaev, using data and examples to criticize the problems in Kazakhstan's agricultural and economic sectors, and pointed out the problem of luxury and corruption of high-ranking officials. Mr. Lao also criticized the work of a minister.

Kunaev

He first criticized Kunaev's younger brother Askar, who was the president of Kazakhstan's Academy of Sciences and was in charge of Kazakhstan's industrial research and development planning.

Lao Na accused Askar of being an alcoholic who drank often and rarely went to work. But Askar is Kunaev's younger brother and turns a blind eye to his absence from work. In the last five-year plan, Mr. Askar said, he did not sign a certificate of invention. The belief that Askar did not attend the Council of Ministers led the Academy of Sciences not to accept any criticism.

Nazarbayev attacked Kunaev's brother, apparently firing at Kunaev. After Lao Na finished speaking, the venue was silent. No one dared to applaud, but many pinched the sweat for Nazarbayev. Even Lao Na's close friends thought he should express his opinion tactfully.

After a few weeks, many local leaders visited Lao Na privately, welcomed his speech and pledged their support. But Kunaev and his cronies were furious. Fire began at Nazarbayev.

2. Framing

In fact, Kunaev had already attacked Narbayev, and he had previously heard rumors that Gorbachev liked Nazarbayev very much. Lao Na himself also believes that he is protected by Gos. This is not the case, because Gorbachev was a man who flattered both sides.

In the fall of 1985, the KGB investigated Lao Na. The investigation was secret, and Lao Na concluded that Kunaev was responsible. Moreover, the investigation is based on rumors, such as Lao Na using public money to buy clothes and forcing the owner of the store to give him gifts, and some people say that Lao Na used his power for personal gain and used a large amount of government money to build a luxurious tomb for his father.

After investigation, these accusations against Lao Na were all false. The graves of Lao Na's parents are two simple monuments, or Lao Na built them himself. In fact, Lao Na was very cautious and never accepted any gifts, so the KGB did not investigate any evidence.

However, the KGB did not lift the surveillance of Lao Na's family, and Lao Na was disgusted by it. He wrote a personal letter to Gorbachev asking for his resignation as prime minister. Gorbachev quickly sent people to Almaty to talk to Nazarbayev, and the person sent by Varavoy, deputy editor of Pravda. During the conversation, Varavoy asked Lao Na to expose the corruption and chaos at the top of Kazakhstan through Pravda. Lao Na refused to do so.

Soon after Lao Na opened fire on Kunaev at the party congress, various rumors, slander, accusations, etc. about him once again came to the fore, and the number of accusations against him actually reached 53. The prosecution and the KGB both ordered an investigation into Lao Na. Lao Na felt pressure from his political opponents at this time.

In the summer of 1986, while the elder was under political pressure, his political rival Kunayev was promoted again. Originally, Gorbachev wanted to retire some elderly people at the Soviet-G meeting, including the 74-year-old Kunaev. But he did not expect that Kunaev would continue to serve as the first SJ in Kazakhstan and was also appointed as a senior member of the ZZJ of the Soviet Union.

Kunaev

After Kunaev's position is consolidated, he will not spare Lao Na. In September 1986, Kunayev flew to Moscow to meet with Gorbachev, demanding that Nazarbayev be removed from his post as prime minister, even describing Nazarbayev as a "dangerous figure whose actions must be stopped."

Gorbachev rejected Kunaev's proposal. Kunaev once again proposed to let Nazarbayev travel abroad, and even asked to arrange other jobs for him, just to let Nazarbayev leave Kazakhstan.

In fact, it sounds good to go abroad, that is, to take the opportunity to exile Nazarbayev abroad, whether he can return is unknown, and it is not ruled out that he will be framed on the way to travel.

Third, the ending

Just when Kunayev was preparing to remove Nazarbayev from the top of Kazakhstan. A high-level Kazakh delegation went to Moscow and directly reported to Gorbachev the problems existing in Kazakhstan and asked Gorbachev to adjust the leadership team. In fact, members of this high-level delegation are against Kunaev.

Gorbachev later recalled that he did not support Kunaev's proposal to remove Nazarbayev, and he told Kunaev about the criticism of the Kazakh high-level delegation. Gorbachev asked Kunayev to go back to a meeting and send senior Kazakh officials to Moscow to discuss existing problems.

Kunaev listened to Gorbachev and realized that he supported Nazarbayev and realized that his time in office was running out less and less. If he agreed to Gorbachev's proposal, it would indicate that his power would be lost. For the sake of decency, Kunaev asked Gorbachev for retirement. Eight weeks later, Gorbachev accepted the old First SJ's resignation.

Gorbachev wanted Nazarbayev to take over, so he asked Kunaev, who will take his shift?

Unexpectedly, Kunayev actually thought that no one was capable of succeeding him, and suggested that Moscow send a capable Russian to lead Kazakhstan.

But Gorbachev actually submitted Kunaev's proposal to the ZZJ for study, and actually rejected Nazarbayev as the first SJ of Kazakhstan through Kunaev's suggestion, and sent a man named Kurbin to serve.

Someone once ridiculed that Nazarbayev had an auspicious face. Nazarbayev entered politics in his early years, he escaped the framing of his political enemy Kunayev, in fact, Gorbachev helped Lao Na from this, and he can be regarded as Lao Na's protector.

Although Lao Na did not take over the position of Kazakh leader at that time, at least his post was retained, and Gorbachev would use him again. It was also Gorbachev who helped, and Lao Na later took over as the leader, which also laid the foundation for him to continue to serve as the president of Kazakhstan after the collapse of the Soviet Union. But good luck is only temporary, and it is impossible to give it to Lao Na for a long time. There is a Chinese saying that "if you see good, you will receive it", but it is dangerous for Lao Na to extend power in his family.
