Prince Andrew began to be a saint: he donated the remaining fruits and vegetables from his garden to a troubled family.
A local charity obtains the produce from the Windsor Royal Lands, the home shared by the Duke of York and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. They and gardener Kevin have been working here for the past six months, and it is a familiar sight.
Prince Andrew is handing over leftover fruits and vegetables from his estate's gardens to families who are in distress and in desperate need of help.
For the past six months, they and gardener Kevin have been pushing Windsor Foodshare's charity trolley, delivering food and fruit to various charities.
A royal source said: "Sarah calls this garden the 'Enchanted Garden' and has always encouraged gardener Kevin to actively participate in this rewarding activity.
"So many vegetables and fruits have been produced, and every week there are surplus deliveries to those in need.
Kevin sent the surplus to a local church, the charity put it in a trolley and distributed it, and volunteers received weekly donations that were then packed into boxes to collect for later use.
