Pauline lamp is easier to raise, is a docile small lamp fish, never bully other fish, only people bully it. Suitable for water temperature 26-28 degrees (extreme water temperature can be 20 degrees -34 degrees), water quality is weak acidity, PH5.0-7.0 can be. Yangding Baolian lamps do not have high water quality requirements and can adapt to tap water in most areas, but weak acid water quality helps with hair color. Relatively resistant, omnivorous, eat almost anything.
As one of the most classic small ornamental fish, Pauline Lantern has always been loved by fish lovers, its strong red and blue contrast and sparkling metallic color, coupled with the group swimming effect, is indeed very eye-catching, but also the most enduring ornamental fish species. When I first saw Baolian Lantern, I was still in elementary school, it was in the Jiangyin Road Market in Shanghai, and I remember that the price at that time was 10 yuan, and the renminbi at that time was very valuable. More than twenty years have passed, with the improvement of national strength, the economic level of the Chinese people continues to improve, and the ornamental fish industry has also flourished, but my love for Pauline lamps has not diminished, and in recent years, it has been quite researched.
Some people want to ask, what can be studied in Pauline lamp? Don't they all look the same? The reason is that in recent years, different "varieties" such as Brazilian Pauline lamps, Colombian Pauline lamps, And Indonesian Pauline lamps have appeared on the market. Prices also range from more than 10 yuan to one or two yuan.
It makes me wonder if there's a difference between them, or if it's just a means for merchants to sell. After 4 years and dozens of times of water purchase, it was observed that there is indeed a difference between them. Although the differences between the Pauline lamp subspecies are very limited.
First of all, let's take a look at the difference between these several Pauline lamps on the market.
1. Pauline Brasil lamp
Brazilian Pauline lamp is currently one of the most popular varieties on the market, and many aquarists want to buy the so-called "real thing", but they are not clear about the difference between them. Here I will summarize it based on my personal observations.
First, the red area of the abdomen of the Brazilian Pauline lamp is larger, even red over the tail handle, and the red is thicker, especially after more than 3 centimeters, the color is dark red, which is quite gorgeous. Second, the metal wire is thicker and straighter, and most importantly, the longest among other subspecies. Stretch all the way to the adipose fin or even beyond. Third, the back of the wild Pauline lamp is dark red reflection, especially the individual who has just set the water is very obvious, and this feature will weaken with the change of environment and water quality. Fourth, the wild Pauline lamp has just been imported to the body is generally more slender, even after fattening is more slender, I raised more than a year of individuals to achieve a very strong effect (I feed less), but personally think a little loss of beauty.

2. Pauline colombia lamp
The main difference between the Colombian Pauline lamp and the Brazilian Pauline lamp is that the length and thickness of the metal wire (there is a subspecies very short), the red face of the abdomen and the red color of the tail root are relatively small, but not obvious. The red back is characteristic of wild fish, so Gobao also has it.

3. Indonesian artificial Pauline lamp
The red area of the Indonesian artificial Pauline lamp is smaller than the above two, the hair color is much later, the redness is also much weaker, showing a light red color, and the metal wire is shorter. This also shows that the original species at that time should be the Colombian Pauline lamp.
4. Native artificial Pauline lamp
Local Pauline lamps generally refer to the Pauline lamps of Real Estate in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, North and other real estate. There are two types of this. One is a descendant of Indonesian treasure. The other is the wild treasure F1-F2. Then if the descendants of Indonesian treasure are similar in characteristics, they may also degenerate more severely. In recent years, the F1-F2 generation of artificial Pauline lamps should have been used to breed fish. Therefore, the performance is much stronger than that of Indonesia, and the metal line and redness are close to wild fish, but the redness of the back is weaker and the body is fatter.

Then from the above comparison, the main difference between artificial and wild is the red area, metal line, back and body shape. Here are two more important points, from my observation, although the metal wire of the wild treasure is thick and straight, after a period of breeding, due to the fat body, from some angles, there will also be a sense of curvature. But artificial is more obvious, not only because of genetic reasons, but also because of not worrying about eating since childhood. In addition, the size of the white belly I think is also the same reason, the fatter the more obvious. Of course, The red area of Baba is still larger than that of other subspecies. I think the red back feature is related to sunlight exposure.
Another interesting distinction between wild and artificial Pauline lamps is to observe and judge from the miscellaneous lamps. In recent years, many miscellaneous lights have also been found in the fixed water.
