01 Awarded to Lieutenant General
Wu Kehua was born in 1913 in Yiyang County, Jiangxi Province. Wu Kehua was born in a dividing line, with the people of the feudal period in front of him and the open-minded spring return to the land behind. As a teenager, Wu Kehua did not live well, his parents were farmers, and Wu Kehua himself only read books for three years, and then chose to work as a handyman in a tofu shop. In 1928, the spring breeze of revolution blew into Yiyang County, and Wu Kehua participated in several riots in his hometown, and was soon influenced by open-mindedness and embarked on the road of revolution. In 1929, at the age of 16, Wu Kehua joined the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and became an honorable Communist Party member. In 1934, Wu Kehua participated in the Long March, which was both an ordeal and a tempering of himself.
Wu Kehua overcame the difficulties of the Long March, and later during the Anti-Japanese War, he was not afraid of his own crisis, stood up, broke off many times, served as a defender, and defeated strong enemies. This is undoubtedly a great courage, which undoubtedly deserves people's praise. In 1949, the People's Republic of China was established, and Wu Kehua was appointed chief of staff of the South China Military Region, responsible for the task of clearing out bandits in Dongjiang and Xijiang. In 1955, Wu Kehua was awarded the honorary title of lieutenant general by the organization, which was undoubtedly a great recognition of him.
02 Sniper warfare has made great contributions
During the Liberation War, our army had three major sniper battles, namely the Tashan, Montenegro, and Xudong sniper battles, and among these three sniper battles, the Tashan sniper battle was the most important, which was related to the success or failure of the Liaoshen Campaign. And Wu Kehua is known precisely for his excellent command technology in the Tashan sniper battle. In October 1948, the Tashan sniper battle began, and Wu Kehua, then commander of the Northeast Field Army, was temporarily appointed as the commander of the war during the crisis. At that time, the situation was not clear, and Lin Biao gave an order to the Northeast Field Army to defend Tashan and not let Tashan fall into the hands of the Kuomintang. Wu Kehua was also very bold, holding the fearless idea of coexistence and death with Tashan, commanding the soldiers to fight in Tashan for six days and six nights, and finally saved Tashan. As a result, our army won a comprehensive victory in the Liaoshen Campaign.
03 as commander
Looking through Wu Kehua's resume, we will find that he took up the posts of platoon commander, company commander, and chief of staff step by step, and finally served as the first commander in his life: the deputy commander of the Shandong detachment. This was in 1938, because of the successful completion of the Long March and his outstanding performance in the Anti-Japanese War, Wu Kehua went to Shandong and took up the position of commander, commanding the Jiaodong Anti-Japanese War. In fact, this position was not very high at that time, but Wu Kehua still attached great importance to this position, and was diligent and diligent in his daily work, which was praised by everyone. Wu Kehua, who was known as a "professional household" of commanders, naturally lived up to this reputation; during his lifetime, he served as chief and deputy commander 16 times, including the commander-in-chief of three major military regions. Speaking of the three major military regions, the time cannot help but come from 1977 to 1980, and in these years, Wu Kehua successively served as the commander-in-chief of the three major military regions of Chengdu, Xinjiang and Guangzhou, which is a rare existence in Chinese history. But Wu Kehua is accustomed to practicing a simple and low-key way of doing things, and he does not hype it, so few people know about it.
Conclusion: In 1987, Wu Kehua died suddenly of illness in Guangzhou, and when he died, he probably recalled the winter of 1948, when he told the people around him to bury him in Tower Hill, buried in the place where he fought bravely, "be a companion with the soldiers", he said, and at the same time drew a successful end to his passionate life. Looking back on Wu Kehua's life, most of his life was accompanied by military life, and people also learned about Wu Kehua through military talents, but if you regard him as an ordinary person, you will find that Wu Kehua's life is also full of legends, and we will not forget him.
