However, the kind and virtuous Christina is still fully prepared to make her greatest contribution to Gaby's hobby, just like other pigeon breeder couples.
To this day, the moment they were combined is still very meaningful, Christina is not a real female pigeon breeder, but she is like the female pigeon breeders in Belgium, and she is very excited whenever the pigeons are about to arrive. In addition, in the face of the trivial and heavy pigeon breeding work in front of her, in order to reduce the burden on Gaby, she did everything herself. What is even more valuable is that this virtuous wife shows a lot of understanding and consideration for this time-consuming and costly hobby that her husband has. As they say: "Pigeon racing is a family sport, and in Dentergem it is certainly a typical example of this situation. ”
The Vandenabee family < pigeon breed >
In 1978, Vandenabee built a house and a loft in Wontergemstrant. The first batch of pigeons was only about 30 pigeons, which Gaby got from his father Gentiel. His father was at the peak of his life, a prestigious mid-course competitor throughout Westflandern, an outstanding fancier in the middle distance of Westflandern. His father built his family based on the famous pigeons of Valere Desment Matthijs, Pol Bostijn and Lucien Verstraete.
Janti paved the way for his son Gaby to establish his own pigeon breed. So it is clear that we can see that later the best of the Gaby pigeon breed can always compete with his father's pigeons. For example, a hugely influential hen, GoedJong 76 (B76-3052115), paired with the Kleinen to breed other masters such as Picano and Fideel, and just as influential as Princees (B79-3388519). It also forged a pairing relationship with Zemer Lietaer, the mother of the unparalleled bite horn.
Although some aspects of pigeon breeding have been given more emphasis than before, The Geby pigeons clearly bear traces of the Janti pigeon family. The position of the three strong pillars of the Van den Nabi pigeon breed is gradually becoming more secure, namely the petite, the bite and the Groten pigeon breed. With regard to these three pigeon breeds, we would like to exclude Bondje65 and Georgette from the pigeon breed of Gaby's father Janti, the superior hens of Georges and Noel Peiren. Dear readers, you will certainly recognize many lineages in your studies. I would like to introduce you to the three most recent powerful pillars of the Van den Nabi pigeon breed. First of all, I would like to introduce the "Jiao Trumpet" that suppresses the crowd.
"Jiao Trumpet" - the best of its generation
What else can be written about this fine blue pigeon with ring number B81-3238253 and its high-priced descendants? In every report about pigeons, even the smaller one, the introduction of Gaby Van den's loft is always at the forefront. The influence of his loft at Dantekin is so great that perhaps this is the whole secret of Gaby's many enviable successes. The degree of matching of the descendants of petite and the descendants of the Bite and Groten is astonishing, overcoming some of the difficulties of the fledgling period of racing pigeons, which I cannot help but call "the creation of Gaby Vandenabee in Dantkin". But the phrase "Gaby Vandenabee's creation at Dantkin" I would rather apply it to the Arendonk homogeneous breeding leader, the Janssen brothers.
Gaby Vandenabee prefers to breed in a hybrid manner. What he pursues is not something that is unattainable for us, but constantly improving his pigeon breed. To be precise, success for several consecutive years is not achieved by homogeneous breeding alone. Almost every cross breeds first-class racing pigeons, outstanding flyers. We should not forget that in Belgium, the home of sprint racing, people always choose pigeons of the first price. The price and the length of the pigeon's flight distance are very important factors in the eyes of the Germans, but they are not worth mentioning. In Belgium, pigeons that often appear in the bottom half of the leaderboard have little chance of winning prize money. Most of the money goes to the top contestants in the charts, but most of it is actually obtained by the Belgians, and Gaby's hometown of Flanders also accounts for a large share.
Just as a man begins to learn to walk in a cradle, a pigeon must be prepared in the nest in order to be sold for a good price. Through inter-provincial competitions, the best pigeons from each township come together, and the flight is usually a contest between the best. When a German occasionally picks a suitable low-class pigeon, he may wrinkle his nose to show his displeasure. Although more bets can be attracted in this way, as people say, every pigeon must be prepared for the best points, only then can they win. The ultimate criterion for determining the intensity of competition among competitors is the high stakes.
Back to the best of Gaby Van den's lofts – petite trumpets. It was Dantekin's first pigeon. But it doesn't have a suitable partner, which breaks the Gaby principle in a real sense. But it is thanks to it that Gaby is constantly and brilliantly moving towards the highest peaks of pigeon racing. The Petite was signed by Gaby himself. As with this incident, there are many elements of luck and serendipity in pigeon racing. The petite father, Zitterke, with ring number B80-4055428, was borrowed by Gaby from Zulte's friend Jozef Delodder to breed, but later flew to become the Champion of Orléans on a hot day against the wind. The father of the "sitting-loving" was the famous "Eersteprijsvlieger", with the ring number B74-3145657, and as its name suggests, it flew out numerous championships under Georges Bossuyt of Waregem. José Dilud's contribution to the belgian top class pigeon industry is the lending of many excellent breeding pairs.
The mother of the "love of the seat", GJ, B79-4337821, did not say anything about her origins, nor did our Zultener fancier, he did not know which pair of pigeons it was bred from. However, we know that as a young racing pigeon it has already flown many first prizes.
Still just a "sitter" in Gaby's loft, José DiLued's 1st Orléans, Gaby used it for a limited time, but right now, by Gaby's standards, it can't find a good enough hen to pair with him in his loft. It's always a good thing to have friends, and Gaby has a good friend like Grlbert van Parijs. He is the owner of Ameyke, and it is thanks to Ameyke that he has bred many excellent pigeons. When he learned of Gaby's trouble begging the hens, Gilbert immediately announced that he would lend a valuable hen to Gaby for breeding. "Aimi" was one of the youngster expert pigeon breeds at the time.
Much can be said about its origins, and its owner is the very good M. Of Roeselare, a brother company of Ameye and Deerlijk. Deceuninck。 As early as an early age, he proved his genius by achieving the following results: 5th Arras/381 p., 94th 381 p., Clermont 69th/254 p., Claremont 10th/84 p., Orleans 82/666 p., Orleans 10th/86 p. On 11 november 1983, Gilbert van Pallis successfully auctioned "Emmy" and became the loft manager of Norbert and Filip Norman. Subsequently, "Ami" followed the "boss" of Aarsele and the "Mas Palomas" from the elegant Badestadt Knokke in the Westkapelle region to the temple of success. It is here that it passes on the extraordinary abilities it has accumulated over the years to the next generation.
It and Oude Angouleme B74-3235090 produced the best offspring Neptunus, B84-3300194, and the son, as father, gave birth to Argentonduivin, B89-3201320, which won the first prize in the All-Argenton 542KM race in 1989 for Mas Palomas, which was contested by 24,300 pigeons. The daughter of Neptunus, Argenton, also won a 1st all-Argenton race in 1992, with a total of 30,909 pigeons racing.
The genetic strength of the "Aimi" pigeon breed is equally amazing. In 1981 it was paired with the "Love Sit" as a hen. This combination was so immediate, was it Gaby's luck, chance, ability or something else? But in any case, the favor of luck still gave Gaby a lot of help. The pairing of "AiZai" and "Aimi" created the world-famous "Petite Trumpet". Because it was medium in size at the beginning, it earned the name true, "During that time, I thought it could bring in a middle income, but now that we have become a lot more sophisticated, I hope it will become more sophisticated." 」 ”
Although Gaby did not want to pair the up-and-coming Petite too early, he immediately paired him with Gaby's father Janti's Goed Jong76 in 1982 and bred the first-class pigeon Picaanol, B82-3258240, which became the best provincial race for yearlings in West Frand. Later, it proved its outstanding flight ability and more prominent breeding ability. As a young bird he won 10th place in a picanol flight with 1,700 pigeons, hence the name.
A year later, petite and Goed Jong76 were paired to breed Fideel, B83-3105147, which later became a very good first class pigeon. As a young bird, Fidel's flight performance was outstanding, with a 1st Interprovincial Orléans (585 pigeons in this race) and a runner-up in Limoges (6991 pigeons) in 1985.
The continuation of the good flying and breeding pigeons of van den Nabi is always from generation to generation, and schone Fideel, the son of Fideel, B86-3043047, also proves his extraordinary flying ability.
The Petite One continues to produce excellent next generations year after year, and naturally there are differences between their levels, and the next generation of pigeons bred by different hens is different. The star of the year 1998 was Wittlenbuik, B88-3206112, bred by Petite and Flicka, the daughter of the second pillar of breeding in Dantkin's loft, The Bite.
As a young bird, the WhiteBeled was just budding, but a year later, even bigger, it made a splash and flew out of the championship. I don't want to list its grades and rankings, but you can turn to 37 pages and enjoy them slowly. However, some very impressive results I would like to mention here: 2nd prov. Poitiers/ 1,435 p., Prov. Bottiers 20th p., Prov. 1st Anguleme p.2,450 p., Prov. Limoges 1st p., Prov. Boitiers p. 2,000 p., Prov. Bottiers p. 2,713 p. Its flying career ended on 27 July 1991 after a major race in Bourtil, where it won 212 of the 1,435 players.
In the days that followed, it also achieved great results in the loft of Van den Nabi. In 1992 the White-Bellied bred with different hens and produced many excellent offspring: it was paired with Picananol's sister Prinsesje, B88-3206173 to breed Kolonel, B92-3233008, and we will introduce its results on page 38. Paired with national champion Rambo's mother, "Vuilke Orleans", B83-3105143, the "White-Bellied" bred "Adjudant", B92-3233103, which proved its worth to its father "White-bellied" during the 1993 and 1994 flying competitions.
We will talk again about the descendants of KLEINEN, and in 1989 I had two pigeons to make a special note about. One of them was the DOKUS, B89-3119023, which won first prizes from 1989 to 1993 with his famous brother. Some of the highlights are 4th LIMOGES against 22,435 p., Chateauroux 37th/3,679 p., LIMOGES 1st/2,644 p., Tulle 56th/5,484 p., and Chateauroux 60th/4,483 p.
The second favourite first prize of 1989 was STIER, B89-3119028, bred from Georgette, B86-3158708. It has also created a number of unusually good prizes, some of which are examples: 13th tours/18,416 pigeons, 3rd Chateauroux/4,758 pigeons. Dokus and Stier, two pigeons with extraordinary results and an excellent breeder in The Gaby's loft.
Born in 1990 as Turbo, B90-3119128, was bred by KLEINEN and Georgette, just like the Stier. I'll cover The Georgette in detail in another section, where they can make a special evaluation of what it means for breeding. Moving back to the Turbine, when it was a yearling it had nothing real to offer, but when it was two it began to show its abilities continuously, and at the age of three it was the stage when its abilities exploded in full force. In 1993 it had a combined score of 145 in the West-Frand championship, which was given to it by the following prizes: 32nd Limoges / 2,767 p., 4th Limoges/2,197 p., and Brive 2nd/1,556 p. A year later, in 1994, Turbo strengthened it again: 22nd Poitiers/2,971 p., Angouleme 12th/2,366 p., 5th Limoges/2,487 p., and Limoges 5th/1,630 p. It is because of these rankings that it scored 101 in three long distance races and 175 points in four long distance races. In Seeland it became the second prize in the distance races, only to be defeated by Ronker in the same loft. The results of the turbine in the breeding loft are equally admirable.
Speaking of "petite trumpet", it has not been an ordinary life over the years. It is now 1995, it is 14 years old, but its breeding ability has not diminished, and in many flights it has bred pigeons in the true sense of the word "Bambino" (Bambino) (B91-3204027), "Wolfgang" (Wolfgang) B91-3204047 and "Bugno" (B91-3204126), "Pearl" (Parel" B91-3204128, and "Webb" (Weber) B92-3233028, how many times have these straight sons participated in the competition so far, you can look through the section that introduces them at least 1000 words. Read on with this introduction and you will find out how much breeding ability the best of the Dantkin breeding loft, petite, is. You may immediately ask, what about these descendants? I don't know, maybe Gaby has secretly picked out his pigeons.
One thing is certain that the future will prove this to us: the Petite is the excellent breeder in the loft of Gaby Van den, which every pigeon breeder dreams of. Unlike the hens, they have bred first-class racing pigeons and in principle most of the pigeons can reach the peak of their careers by flying brilliantly before they find a place in the breeding loft, so what do we have to worry about today about these descendants? Genes with the excellent characteristics of the "petite trumpet" have been passed on in its straight son, so the genius component of the "petite trumpet" will be immortalized in the offspring.
"Love Bite" – a descendant of a first class pigeon
After the Petite, the Geby pigeon breed has bred the Bites and Groten. The blue "Love Bite", B80-3250688, was cultivated by Gaby himself. Its father's ring number is B77-4026382 and the title is "Zemer Lietaer". Don't get me wrong, we're not talking about the son of Andre Lietaer's famous "Zemer." The name only indicates that the father of the "Biting Horn" was bred by the pigeon breed "Zemer". It is now clear that it is the 77th pigeon bred by Victor Vansteenbrugge, whose appearance is now clear, and whose distant aggedamation is from Rekkem Andre Lietaer, in the same pigeon line. For fanciers, "Zemer", B65-3001732 is not a familiar name, its pale Belgian appearance was seen in the 1971 Brussel and 1973 Dusseldorf races. And its origin is only known to the old pigeon breeders, but it is still not lost.
Let's take a closer look at "Love Bite". His mother "Prinses", B79-3388519, was bred by two pigeons from Gaby's father's pigeon breed. Prinses is not an ordinary pigeon, but among the many successful pigeons in this family, its achievements are far ahead. For example, its son Schone Fideel, B86-3043047, has already been mentioned in the chapter on petite trumpets. Its other son was "Tarzan", B81-3238237, who was the father of "Rambo". Rambo won a national first prize in Bourges in 1988, with a total of 16,132 pigeons racing.
Gaby's "petite trumpet" is very powerful. In the 1981 season, it won six Orleans titles, and six titles have said a lot, and no one can imagine how difficult it would be in Belgium and Flanders. After the 1982 season it was moved to the breeding loft, where it proved to be right for Gaby. Its brilliant son ,Favoriet), B86-3943155, was bred by him and Bentje65. Favoriet won many first prizes in 1989 as a famous pigeon racer and his strength is not to be underestimated in the far distances of Flanders. As an expert pigeon racing player, Favoriet has the following achievements: 15th Poitiers/3,162 p., Poitiers 22nd/1,790 p., Angouleme 2nd/869 p., and Poitiers 15th/1,405 p.
After the 1990 season, Favoriet went to the breeding loft, where he bred excellent offspring, and his best son was probably B91-3204078, wolfgang Roeper of Germany. The mother of 078 is Rosa, B88-3402070, the daughter of Westkapelle's famous Rosa Mota from Norbert and Norbert and Filip Norman, who won the first prize in a national race in Ciechanow (728km) in a 078 gown, which was raced by 9,863 pigeons.
In 1889 "Bijter", and "bontje065", B83-3265358 bred a pair of nest friends: "Senna", B89-3119013 and "Marilou", B89-3119014. The young Senna excelled at the age of one and two, most of its rankings were within ten, and the exact ranking can be found on page 58. Not to be outdone, his brothers are certainly not to be outdone, and here are the brilliant results: 2nd Prov. Blois/3,676 p., 5th Clermont/221 p., and Tours 12th/2012 p.
Also an excellent pigeon belonging to the Pigeon Family of Biting is Brive, B89-3119062, whose record is outstanding and is a descendant of Bijter.
Another son born to "Blauwe Beauty" B90-3119114 with Bondje065, who later mastered almost all of his flying skills at the age of 3 to 4.
The next, but not the last, is Favoriet's brother "Plezanten," B91-3204114. On the 24th of July 1993, having accumulated all its strength and looking to have the same thick feathers as The Love, it won the 3rd place in the Brive race, with a total of 5,132 pigeons racing this time.
The impact of the success of the "Love Bite" at Dantkin is very far-reaching. In the breeding process, the combination effect of "love bite" and "petite trumpet" is very obvious. Even more striking is the combination of the "Georgette" and "Bontje065" pigeon breeds "Petite" and "Groten". Dear readers, after studying you will find that the relationship between the various pigeon breeds is self-evident.
I think it's time to talk about two famous hens, Georgette and Bondje065, both from the pigeon breeds of Georges and Noel, fanciers who live in Vladslo. Most of the Belgian pigeon experts in KBDB in 1982 belonged to Vladslo, and they all came from Feinsten. Bontje065, B85-3265358, and Tochter065, B83-3232098, which have not been mentioned so far, are sisters. Their parents "065" are the sons of George Peiren pigeon breeding Miljonair. Paired with "065" is its aunt, Blauwe Witslag, who is sisterly with Miljonair. The addition of the two van den Nabi pigeon breeds complements the shortcomings of petite and Groten pigeon breeds. The project just fills the gap in Georgette, B86-3158708, which was bred by Miljonair's daughter. For outstanding pigeon breeders, this gives them new motivation. One might think that two close pigeon breeds, such as The Jensen pigeon breed and gaby Van den Nabi' pigeon breed, will form a relationship. Koen Minderhout, from the Westkapelle region of the Netherlands, has done just that and has been successful.
The history of Groten
Undoubtedly, the third pillar of Dantekin's loft is Groten, ring number B84-4427490. In various reports about lofts, Groten is brief or not at all. But there have been many reports of "petite trumpets" and "love bites". One of the deep reasons for Groten's indifference is that it doesn't reproduce for long. But Groten plays a very special role in Gaby's breeding loft, with sons such as Playboy (B86-3043112), Baron (B88-3206009), Braven (B88-3206047), Argenton (B89-3119047) and Directewr (B90-3119034) at the top of the list and many successes at Dantekin. The combination with the "petite" offspring proves that it is an ideal pairing partner, and this also allows Gaby to mention the origin of Groten for the first time:
"At that time, one of my clients was performing business economic management tasks in Kluisbergen, where Robert Willequet lived. The public servant of the Treasury Bureau showed during the conversation that he and Robert Willequet were very familiar. I was naturally pleasantly surprised to sign a contract with a famous pigeon breeder, and I was satisfied that the inspector introduced me to Robert. The first two pigeons I got from there were Groten and Gekwesten , and they both developed well. Groten won both the Clermont race (189km) and the Tulle race (646km). Gekwesten also achieved two excellent results. It was injured on the return of the third flight, hence the name it has now. In addition, the quality of the offspring it produces is very high. Robert Willequet's Groten's father, Crack, also excelled in flying, winning seven titles in total. When I first interviewed Willequet, it was paired with a hen. I immediately bought the breeding pigeons they bred. I was lucky enough to be able to buy this pigeon. ”
While all of Groten's sons are demonstrating their flying abilities, Playboy has found his place in the breeding loft as a breeding pigeon, and breeding pigeons like him are difficult to find even in Gaby's pigeon breed. Gaby made playboys as breeding pigeons based on intuition or a special feeling, but by no means just by luck. In any case, it showed excellent quality as soon as it arrived in the breeding loft. Combined with the petite granddaughter Francoise (B86-3046205), it gave birth to a pair of sisters: B91-3024035 and B91-3204036. Incredibly, the sisters achieved extraordinary things in their first year of life.
The later name of "035" was Golden Lady, a pigeon of The West Flanders and a third in the middle distance in Belgium. Not to be outdone, his sister, Lady, became the third pigeon in the middle distance of West Flanders. They have shown extraordinary breeding ability in breeding lofts for a long time.
Playboy's other two sons, "Clinton" and "Bush," are also not to be overlooked, and they were bred by Playboy and Franks. Clinton's B92-3233038 was a top finisher when he was a youngster. Although he was not a full-time racing pigeon as a yearling, he finished 11 good places in the 3,703 km race. Outstanding results as yearlings include: 6th Clermont/82 p., Chartres 3rd/318 p., Orleans 15th/102 p., Bourges 102nd Nat. Bourges/11,467 p., Orleans 137th/1,413 p., 34th Chateauroux Interprovincial/7,793 p., Chateauroux 2nd Interprovincial/6,886 p., 8th Poitiers / 1,382 p. It won 3rd/146th pigeon from Clermont in 1994, 3rd prov. Poitiers/2,971 p., Tours 57th/301 p., Limoges 551st/2,482 p., Limoges 387th/8,362 p., but unfortunately died in Brive on 23 July 1994.
"Bush," to paraphrase U.S. President George W. Bush's name, is no worse than his brother. He flew 8 good prizes as a young bird and later reached the top prizes at the age of one and two, to name just a few: 19th Interprovincial Chateauroux/6,886 p., 4163rd Nat. Chateauroux/23,988 p., 48th Poitiers/1,382 p., 293rd/2,971 p. Prov. Poitiers, 8th p. (Tours) p. 301 p , 96th prov. Limoges against 2,482 p., 574th(Brive)/4,831 p. The descendants of Groten's son, Playboy, were equally successful.
According to Gaby's general principles, another of Groten's high-achieving sons should also be sent to the breeding loft. Let's take a look at the elite pigeon Argenton, B89-3119047. Its mother was Anneke, B88-3206001, born of Pianol and Bontje065. Argenton flew 7 good prizes as a young bird, but the outstanding one was the 24,300 pigeons raced in Argenton (506km), which finished 11th in the country. He flew 8 top 8 places as a yearling, so let's take a look at its results: Arras 18th/122 p., Clermont 13th/146 p., Dourdan 15th/626 p., Orleans 4th/771 p., Orleans 8th/1337 p., Chateauroux 3rd p./6,683 p., Poitiers 77th/4,830 p., 182nd Nat. Limoges / 22,435th pigeon. In 1992, after 6 very outstanding results, he went to the breeding loft. I think the secret to the success of the Gaby Van denerbi pigeon breed is to allow the highest-achieving pigeons to enter the breeding loft prematurely.
Dear readers, we have come to know the three breeding pigeons of Dantkin. I would also like to take a closer look at the old pigeon breeds that have contributed to the success of the Gaby pigeon breed, namely Gentiel, The Father of Gaby, and the hens of Georges and Noel Peiren. I believe that after studying the various pigeon breeds, you can easily find excellent pigeons from these pigeon families in this book. There are also fanciers whose pigeon art is definitely more or less related to Gaby, so I will mention two more names in this section. The first thing mentioned was our fanciers , Norbert and Filip Norman. Some of Dantekin's pigeons come from Mas Palomas, which they are often used for exchange. The most notable period was the appearance of two hens, Rosa and Rosalline. The combination of Rosa and Favoriet created the national winner of the Crechanow race, which belongs to the pigeon breed of wolfgang Roeper, a fancier who lives in Pinneberg.
Most of the excellent pigeons come from Josef Delodder and Cyriel Vanden Bogaerde, who live in Zulte, Lucien Staelens, a fancien Staelens, a fancier who lives in Wevelgem, and Eddy Leutenez, a fancier who lives in Semmerzake. After buying the national winner "Limoges" (see page 81) from the public loft of Thesseyn-Vande Meulebroucke, he immediately bought the first prize "Barry Strawberry". Gaby considers himself a hybrid breeder, and in some ways he's right. But what we must pay attention to is the original meaning of hybridization in the sport of short distance pigeon racing. In Victor Vansalen's best-selling book "Breeding and Racing Models", according to Gommaire Verbruggen, hybridization means that two pairs of pigeons are not related in the last six generations. According to this view, hybridization is a different portal. But when we know this, if we study it more closely, we will find that almost all the best pigeons in Flanders come from the same old pigeon breed.
