Bowfin Fish
Bowfin fish are the surviving species that have persisted from the Jurassic to the present day. Although bowfin fish are highly evolved, they retain some of the morphological features of their early ancestors and are often referred to as "primitive fish". Bowfin fish are benthic freshwater carnivores native to North America. Studies of its fossils have shown that the fish was once widely distributed in freshwater and marine environments, spanning North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Currently, their scope is limited to the eastern United States and southern Canada. They prefer to inhabit vegetated mud swamps, low-lying rivers and lakes, marshlands and backwaters. Sometimes it also appears in salty water. They prey by entanglement, ambush, and feed on fish and aquatic invertebrates such as crayfish, mollusks, and aquatic insects. Bowfin fish are bimodal breaths, which means they have the ability to breathe water and air. Their gills exchange gases in the water, allowing them to breathe with oxygen. They also have an airbag that maintains buoyancy and breathes air through a small pneumatic catheter from the front colt to the airbag.
Guianan cock-of-the-rock
From South America. It is about 30 cm long and weighs about 200 to 220 grams. It lives mainly in tropical rainforests and prefers habitats close to rocks. Females' plumage is tan or dark smoke gray, and because they nest in rocky areas, the color is usually not as good as the bright orange of the male. Both have broad mouths and wear distinct half-moon peaks on their heads. It lives in the forested areas of northeastern South America. Its diet consists mainly of fruit, but sometimes includes small snakes and lizards. Females breed in the first few months of the year and, on average, lay their eggs around March. Males and females live separately unless the female chooses a partner. Its main predators are horned eagles and bear eagles.
Tijuana (zonkey)
It is a hybrid species that is produced by mating zebras and donkeys. They have an odd number of chromosomes and are unable to reproduce. It's weird and cute. Although Tijuana is rare, they breed in many zoos and farms around the world.
Hammerhead Worm
Hammerhead worms are large predatory land planarians. Due to the unique shape of their heads, they are often referred to as "hammer-headed worms" or "thick-headed planarians". Hammerhead worms are unique in that they have a "crawling bottom" on their ventral side. It is considered an invasive special to the United States and Europe. Recent studies have shown that the worm contains tetrodotoxin, a very potent neurotoxin. It was the first recorder of tetrodotoxin in terrestrial invertebrates.
Sawsharks
The sawtooth shark is a member of the shark that has a distinctive long sawn-like snout and sharp teeth on its nose and mouth that are used to prey. Not to be confused with sawfish. Sawtooth sharks can be seen in many parts of the world, most commonly from the Waters of the Indian Ocean to the South Pacific. They can usually be found at depths of around 40-100 meters, but they are found much lower in the tropics. The Sawtooth sharks of the Bahamas live mainly in the waters of the Northwest Caribbean Sea between 640 and 915 meters. These extremely rare and unique creatures get their name from their jagged noses.
Bhupathy's Purple Frog
In August 2017, scientists discovered a new frog species in India's Western Ghats, called the purple frog of Bupady. The species has purple skin and blue eyes and lives underground. The discovery of this species has been linked to other frogs living in the Seychelles. This is in line with the idea that Africa and India were once part of the same ancient supercontinent that eventually became part of the later supercontinent Pangia.
Portuguese Man-O-War
Also known as blueflies, or floating with terrifying marine hydras, are distributed in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. It is thought to be the same as the Pacific monk's hat jellyfish found in the Pacific Ocean. The jellyfish has many toxic micronesiasis cysts that emit powerful stings large enough to kill fish and are also said to kill humans. Although identical in appearance to a single organism such as a jellyfish, their structure is different because the monk's hat jellyfish has a siphon. In fact, it is a combination of individuals connected together by a siphon, a common organism in which individuals live together. Monk's hat jellyfish are carnivores. It can use its poisonous tentacles to trap and paralyze prey while sucking meat inward. It usually feeds on small marine organisms, such as fish and plankton.
Hybrid fish (Sturddlefish)
The sturgeon is a fish of very different appearances that is a cross between spoon-sturgeon and Russian sturgeon. The researchers successfully cultivated in 2019, which is also a hybridization between different species in the sturgeon, especially the common ancestor of these two species lived 184 million years ago, both of which are endangered species. Currently, all live hybrids are kept in captivity in research laboratories in Hungary.
