The Buddhist Association of China was invited to attend the 30th World Buddhist Friendship Association

From October 18 to 20, 2022, at the invitation of the World Buddhists Association ("World Buddhist Federation"), a delegation of seven Chinese Buddhist delegations, including Gen-la Yan Jue, President of the Buddhist Association of China, Gen-la Xincheng, Gen-la Changzang, and Gen-la Puzheng, Deputy Secretary-General, attended the 30th "World Buddhist Federation" Congress and the 98th Executive Committee Meeting of the "World Buddhist Federation" held in Bangkok, Thailand through video channels. During the conference, President Yanjue was elected as the vice chairman of the "World Buddhist Federation", and Deputy Secretary-General Puzheng was elected as an executive member of the "World Buddhist Federation".

With the theme of "Buddhism in Crisis", nearly 200 delegates from dozens of regional centers in 17 countries and regions, including China, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Norway, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the United States, and Taiwan, attended the conference.

On the afternoon of October 19, the opening ceremony of the 30th World Buddhist Federation Congress was held at Mahamagood University in Bangkok. The King of Thailand, the Prime Minister of Thailand, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, the President of the Thai National Assembly, and the Thai monk Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatanana congratulated the conference. In his congratulatory speech, President Yanjue said that Buddhism advocates peace, compassion, the middle path and harmony, and has played an important role as a bridge for exchanges and blending between different civilizations and enhancing friendship between peoples of all countries. Since its establishment, the World Buddhist Federation has been adhering to the teachings of the Buddha and has made important contributions to strengthening the close unity of Buddhists, uniting Buddhists from other countries to promote the Dharma and benefiting their lives, deepening international Buddhist cultural exchanges, and promoting world peace and the well-being of all sentient beings.

Gen-la also said that in the face of the unprecedented changes in the world in a century and the difficulties and challenges encountered by mankind, we must consciously shoulder the social responsibility and historical mission of contemporary religious circles, uphold the responsibility and responsibility of the Buddha to be compassionate and help the world, strengthen friendly exchanges, solidarity and cooperation among religious circles in various countries, and make common efforts and due contributions to promoting win-win cooperation and peaceful coexistence among people in all countries and regions of the world and ensuring the happiness and sustainable development of mankind.

In addition, various activities such as the 98th Executive Committee of the World Buddhist Federation, the Council of the World Buddhist Federation, the Council of the World Buddhist Federation, the First and Second Plenary Meetings of the World Buddhist Federation, the Standing Committee Meeting of the World Buddhist Federation, and the 12th Meeting of the Council of World Buddhist Universities were held during the conference, and the participants discussed and discussed relevant matters of the conference.

On the afternoon of the 20th, the 30th "World Buddhist Federation" conference was successfully concluded. At the closing ceremony, the 2022 WFO Bangkok Declaration was adopted. The declaration stated that the promotion of Buddhism should be regarded as an important foundation for promoting world peace and harmony, and the promotion of interreligious exchanges and dialogue should be regarded as an effective way to promote world peace, and it should make positive contributions to the well-being of mankind and the sustainable development of the earth.
