The artistic enlightenment of "Three Wonders of Nine Continents"
Mr. Yang Jiuzhou's painting techniques and artistic achievements in plum, bamboo and finches are known as the "Three Wonders of Jiuzhou", which are inseparable from the enlightenment and edification of his childhood mother.
In 1938, Yang Jiuzhou was born in the countryside of Haicheng, Liaoning Province, and in that relatively materially scarce years, his ingenious mother was a well-known "painter" in the village. "When I was a child, anyone who wanted to embroider pillows and uppers would go to the house and ask my mother to paint patterns. My mother readily agreed every time, and she was soon able to draw beautiful drawings on paper. "In Mr. Yang Jiuzhou's memory, his mother painted mostly flowers and birds and other auspicious patterns. The yearning for beauty and auspiciousness is like a seed sown in the heart of young Yang Jiuzhou.
Yang Jiuzhou, who inherited his mother's artistic talent, quickly showed his expertise in fine arts. "From elementary school to junior high school, I was the art class representative of the class, and I especially liked copying comic books at that time. Later, the family raised cattle, and every day after school I would squat in the yard and draw calves. ”
Shortly after graduating from high school, Yang Jiuzhou was admitted to the Chinese painting refresher class jointly organized by the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and the Liaoning Provincial Fine Arts Association, which is a semi-full-time study class, two days a week, Wednesday and Saturday. The students were taught by the famous "Four Elders of Lumei" at that time: Ji Guanzhi, Zhong Zhifu, Yan Shaoxiang and Guo Xihe.
Under the guidance of famous teachers, Yang Jiuzhou swam in the time and space of pen and ink, and immersed in the charm of Chinese painting.
