Chickasaw Island: The West threatens to "claim compensation from China"? There are no doors! One two three

Recently, the "Chinese compensation theory" has become very popular in the West. The argument said that China is responsible for the spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in the world and should pay huge compensation to countries with serious epidemics.

The remark was concocted by relevant people in the United States, and some think tanks and media in britain, Germany, Australia and other countries made arguments and agitation; in addition, a non-governmental organization in India jumped out and said that it had filed a claim lawsuit with the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Uncle Dao felt that these people's ideas were ridiculous and shameless, and they really looked like robbers.

The voice of "claims against China" first appeared in the United States. On March 13, a Florida law firm claimed that it had filed a class-action lawsuit against China in local courts. On April 16, two Republican lawmakers launched a bill in the U.S. Congress to strip China of its "national sovereign immunity" so that U.S. citizens and local governments could take the Chinese government to federal court for compensation.

In Britain, a think tank called the Henry Jackson Institute has also released a report detailing how much China should lose. The society said the coronavirus had caused about £3.2 trillion in damage to G7 countries and that "China should pay compensation for violations of the International Health Regulations". The report states that the UK could claim £351 billion.

For some Western politicians, this "China compensation theory" is their new trick of "throwing the pot", the purpose is nothing more than to confuse the public and transfer the responsibility of the domestic government for ineffective prevention and control, and to pass on the people's anger at the continuous increase in the number of infections and deaths to China.

This idea has also been echoed by some Western non-governmental figures: they, out of their deep-rooted ideological and racial prejudice against China, do not talk about China's previous anti-epidemic efforts and sacrifices, and do not believe in China's anti-epidemic achievements; subsequently, they fall into the myth of "gunboat diplomacy" in which their ancestors often demand "reparations", fantasizing that they may be able to get some money from China.

Of course, Western politicians have a mirror in their minds, and it is impossible to claim compensation from China with the old tricks of more than a century ago. This is not feasible in international law, and there is no legal basis and basis for reality. However, if we use this remark to further smear China's national image and obliterate all Of China's anti-epidemic efforts and assistance to the world, it is best for the Western world to form a joint force of public opinion and bring international pressure to China.

In the process, Navarro, director of the White House Office of National Trade and Manufacturing Policy, is the epitome of the "China Compensation Theory." On April 19, in an interview with Fox Television, he listed three recent reasons to blame China: first, the virus is most likely to originate from the Wuhan laboratory, second, China is "under the cover of the WHO" to mislead the world with false data, and third, China has used the epidemic to make huge profits by "selling 50-cent masks to the United States for $8 a piece."

Such upside-down black-and-white, open-mouth remarks just show that these Western politicians still do not put the people's life and health first, and their minds are still full of the idea of "political anti-epidemic": how to use the epidemic to grab political benefits and attack other countries is the fundamental logic of their fight against the epidemic.

In fact, this "claims theory" is completely unjustified. In the face of the epidemic, all mankind is a victim; historically, there has never been a precedent for "claims" against specific countries and peoples due to public health events.

In 2009, the H1N1 flu was first diagnosed in the United States and broke out on a large scale, spreading to 214 countries and regions, causing nearly 200,000 deaths. Since the 1980s, AIDS has caused suffering to tens of millions of people around the world, and who has sought the responsibility of the country of origin?

"If you claim to China because of the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in China at the earliest, then the spread of mad cow disease from the United Kingdom should be claimed to the United Kingdom; the Ebola virus originated in Africa, and it should be claimed to African countries." Recently, Czech President Zeman made such a statement on the "ridiculous and sad" "claim theory".

Singapore's former permanent representative to the United Nations, Mahbubani, said that the 2008 international financial crisis began with the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers in the United States, but did the world claim compensation from the United States? Jim O'Neill, the originator of the "BRIC" concept and president of the Royal Institute of International Studies, also pointed out that the United States is responsible for the global subprime mortgage crisis, but no one has ever suggested suing the United States, and people hope that it will regain strong economic growth.

Where the virus originated and where it was first discovered is essentially a natural disaster and does not mean that "whoever is responsible for it" is essentially a natural disaster. What's more, there is no scientific conclusion on where the new crown virus originated, and the irresponsible "politicization" of individual countries and politicians will only bring interference to scientific research work.

In response to the conspiracy theory that US politicians have recently begun to clamor that the virus originated in the laboratory, on April 21, WHO again refuted it in Geneva. A WHO spokesperson said all known evidence suggests that the coronavirus originated in animals, not through laboratory intervention or manufacture.

Under a sudden stress test, the world today is exposing something more harmful than a tangible virus: lies, political attacks, "throwing pots", confrontations, divisions – if you really want to "hold the blame", I am afraid that these bottomless robbers who are afraid of chaos will bear the brunt of it.

On April 20, a Spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry made a statement on the "Theory of Compensation in China":

"Viruses are the common enemy of all mankind and can appear at any time, anywhere in the world. Like other countries, China has been attacked by the new crown virus and is a victim, not a perpetrator, let alone an 'accomplice' of the virus. ”

Looking back at China's epidemic prevention path, on December 31, 2019, China informed WHO of cases of "pneumonia of unknown cause" in Wuhan; on January 3, 2020, China began to regularly inform WHO and many countries of epidemic information; from the isolation of the new coronavirus on January 7, the sharing of the whole genome sequence of the virus with the world on January 12, to the confirmation of "human-to-human transmission" on January 20, and the closure of the passage from Wuhan to Han on January 23, China's efforts in this encounter are obvious to all.

Some countries disregard the facts and international public opinion, never mention the two-month window that China has won for the world, and then have to "throw a pot" and "extort a big lever" when their own epidemic prevention is ineffective. What is right and what is wrong, which is clear and which is cloudy, is bound to be clear in some people's own hearts.

On 20 April, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reiterated his call for no further political manipulation of the outbreak and for the virus to be used as an opportunity to fight each other or win political scores. He warned that "the worst is coming" and that "differences between people and between parties are adding fuel to the fire ... Regardless of ideology, left or right or neutral, it should be united."

While some Western politicians have made groundless accusations against China, China is actively strengthening anti-epidemic cooperation with other countries: as of April 10, the Chinese government has provided or is providing material assistance to 127 countries and 4 international organizations, dispatched 13 batches of medical expert teams to 11 countries, and held more than 70 expert video conferences with more than 150 countries and international organizations.

The "Theory of China's Compensation" is a new weapon for Western politicians to continue to engage in political manipulation and struggle against China's public opinion, and it will eventually be a bubble of public opinion.

The epidemic is a key test, and what can cross it is not the "undercurrent" and "dirty water", but the determination of all mankind to share the same heart and gallbladder. Don't forget, the enemy is the virus, not China.
