On July 15, 1927, the "July 15" counter-revolutionary coup d'état broke out. The Kuomintang began to arrest and hunt down Communists on a large scale, and many revolutionary comrades were brutally killed and came to a miserable end.
In order to escape the pursuit of the Kuomintang, Chairman Mao, Yang Kaihui and their families were forced to return to Changsha Bancang with luggage and books, and Chen Yuying also went with them.

On October 24, 1930, Yang Kaihui was unfortunately arrested by the reactionaries, and Mao Anying and Chen Yuying were also arrested and imprisoned.
The enemy tortured and forced her to ask where Chairman Mao had gone, and even asked her to publicly announce her separation from Chairman Mao.
But Yang Kaihui is not greedy for life and afraid of death, how can he succumb to the enemy's coercion. No matter how the enemy tortured her, she never leaked a word.
