The fifth episode of "Dream of the Red Mansion", "Jia Baoyu's God Journey to the Too Void Realm", is the spirit of the whole book "Tragic Gold Mourning Jade", from which the title of the book "Dream of the Red Mansion" was born. Jia Baoyu followed the police fairy in his dream to the too illusory realm, watching the main volume, secondary volume, and sub-volume of "Jinling Twelve Dynasties", tasting the fairy tea "Thousand Red One Cave (crying)", drunken wine "Wan Yan Tong Cup (sad)", listening to the twelve branches of the fairy song "Dream of the Red Mansion", abandoning the name of "lust", and leading the clouds and rain.
Plum blossoms bloomed in the courtyard of Ningguo Mansion, and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law of the Qin family of the You family invited Jia Mu, Baoyu and others to go to Ningfu to admire the plums. Jia Musu was the first proud person among the great-granddaughters-in-law because Jia Rong's daughter-in-law Qin was born delicate, gentle and peaceful, so she handed over Baoyu to her for arrangement, so Qin took this second uncle to her bedroom.
Qin Keqing, who is "good at style and moon appearance", his bedroom is full of worldly obscene images, and there is a "Begonia Spring Sleeping Map" painted by Tang Bohu on the wall, and the treasure realm of Wu Zetian on the case, and Zhao Feiyan stood on a gold plate that danced, and the plate contained papaya thrown by An Lushan that injured Taizhen's milk; On the bed were the gauze washed by Xi Shi and the mandarin duck pillow that the red lady had hugged.
Such a fragrant space will inevitably cause the germination of adolescent adolescent sexual consciousness, as the lure of Baoyu "follow the fairy and don't be red dust", it is undoubtedly the most appropriate. The Qin family waited for the treasure and jade to lie down, and the grandmothers dispersed, leaving only the four maids of Zhaoren, Meiren, Qingwen, and Luyue as companions. The Qin family then instructed the little maids to watch the cats and dogs fight under the eaves of the corridor.
Only then did Baoyu close his eyes, and then he fell asleep in a trance, as if Qin Keqing was in front and Baoyu was behind, wandering leisurely and arriving at a place. But seeing the vermilion jade blocks, green trees and clear streams, it is really untouched, and birds are rare. Baoyu overheard a song from behind the mountain, and the song did not stop, and he saw a waddling fairy coming over there to greet him, this is "far from hating the sky, pouring sorrow in the sea, releasing the spring mountain and sending incense cave too illusory realm to warn the fairy Gu is also".
Baoyu gladly followed the immortal gu to a place, and the stone archway had four big characters "too illusory realm" written on it, and the couplet on both sides read: "When fake is true, it is true or false, and there is somewhere and there is nothing when nothing is done." The palace gate inside is inscribed with the inscription "Evil Sea Love Heaven". There are plaques on both sides of the hall inside the second gate, marked with the names "Infatuation Division", "Grudge Division", "Spring Sense Division", "Autumn Compassion Division", etc., which turned out to be the storage places of the fate books of women all over the world.
The immortal gu led Baoyu into the "Bo Ming Division", but saw that more than a dozen large cabinets were sealed with seals, indicating the words of each province. Baoyu only selects the books of his hometown, which are divided into "Jinling Twelve Secondary Volumes", "Jinling Twelve Secondary Volumes", and "Jinling Twelve Secondary Volumes".
Baoyu then stretched out his hand and opened the door of the "Another Supplementary Volume" first, took out a booklet, opened it, and saw that there was a painting painted on this first page, and it was not a person, nor a landscape, but a dark cloud and fog stained with ink. There are a few lines of handwriting after it, which reads: "The moon is rare, and the colorful clouds are easy to disperse." The heart is higher than the sky, and the body is inferior. Merry dexterity attracts resentment. Shou Yu is mostly born because of slander, and he is amorous and cares about his son. ”
Baoyu flipped through two more pages and was puzzled. So he threw this down, went to open the door of the "Secondary Volume", picked up a booklet, and when he opened it and looked at it, he saw a osmanthus flower drawn, and there was a pond and swamp below, in which the water dried up and the lotus withered, and the book cloud behind: "The root and lotus flower are fragrant, and the life is really hurt." Since the two places gave birth to isolated trees, the fragrant soul returned to its hometown. ”
Baoyu was still puzzled after reading it. So he threw it again, and then went to take the "main book" to see, only to see that two dead trees were painted on the first page, and a jade belt hung on the wood; There was another pile of snow, and a golden hairpin under the snow. There are also four sayings, which are: "Regret the virtue, pity the Yong Cai." The jade belt hangs in the forest, and the golden hairpin is buried in the snow. ”
On the bottom pages, this is the case, a painting accompanied by a poem.

Baoyu looked at it one by one, but was puzzled. Where did he know that these three pamphlets were the lifelong books of the upper, middle, and lower women of his family, and the pictures and judgments on them all foreshadowed the fate and end of these women.
When Baoyu still wanted to see, that immortal gu knew that he was talented and wise, and he was afraid of leaking the immortal machine, so he covered up the scroll and said to Baoyu with a smile: "And follow me to play wonders, why fight this stuffy gourd here!" Then he was introduced into the inner room, and a group of fairies came out to pick up the guests, delicate like spring flowers and charming as the autumn moon. The name of the tea is "Thousand Red One Cave (Cry)", and the wine number is "Wanyan Tong Cup (Sad)", which is completely different from the dust, and the treasure jade is full of appreciation.
In the drinking room, twelve more dancers came up, and the warning fairy ordered them to sing twelve pieces of the newly made "Dream of the Red Mansion" song. The dancers tapped the sandalboard and pressed the silver kite, and after the introduction, the first [lifelong mistake] sang as:
"The capital is a good marriage of gold and jade, and he only thinks of the former alliance of wood and stone. The sky is facing the crystal snow of Gaoshi in the mountains, and finally does not forget the lonely forest of fairies and shu in the world. Sigh that the ointment in the world is not enough to believe in the present. Even if it is a case of raising eyebrows, it is difficult to settle in the end. ”
Then came [Eyebrows in vain]: "One is Langyuan Immortal, and the other is Meiyu Flawless." If there is no strange fate, I will meet him again in this life; If there is a strange fate, how can the mind eventually be vanished? One is in vain, the other is worried about empty labor. One is the moon in the water, and the other is the flower in the mirror. Think how many tears can be in your eyes, how can you stop autumn from flowing to the end of winter and spring to summer! ”
Baoyu listened to this song, rambling, not necessarily beneficial; But its voice is sad, and it can kill the soul. Therefore, I did not check its origin and asked about its origin, so I just relieved it for the time being. Where did Baoyu know that these twelve songs are actually based on the ending of the characters of "Jinling Twelve Zhengshu". The twelve pieces express the following:
"Lifelong Mistake" - write Baoqi and Daiyu in the tone of Baoyu; "Eyebrows in Vain" - write Bao Dai love in a Daiyu tone; "Hate Impermanence" - written by Yuan Chun; "Split Flesh and Bones" - written to explore the spring and marry; "Happiness in Sorrow" - writing about Xiangyun's encounter; "The World Is Intolerable" - written by Miaoyu; "The Happy Wrongdoer" - written to welcome the spring; "Virtual Flower Language" - writing about Xi Chun becoming a monk; "Smart and Tired" - written by Wang Xifeng; "Liuyuqing" - Sister Qiao; "Late Shaohua" - written by Li Zhen; "The End of Good Things" - written by Qin Keqing.
The closing song is "Flying Birds Each Throws into the Forest" which implies the fate and ending of many characters, including Jia Baoyu: "For the official, the family business withers; Rich, gold and silver scattered... Those who owe tears, the tears are gone... Those who see through, escape into the empty door... It's like a bird that has eaten all thrown into the forest, and the white vast land is really clean! ”
One song after another, but also a chorus. Seeing that Baoyu was not interesting, he sighed: "Idiot! I haven't realized it yet! Na Baoyu hurriedly stopped singing Ji Ji, consciously in a hazy trance, drunk and begging to lie down.
Immortal Gu knew that Baoyu had an infatuation in his talent and would not be able to see the world, so he first attracted Baoyu to receive the sound and color scenery of the fairy fantasy realm, so that he realized the truth that all circumstances are illusory and color is always empty. So she gave one of her sisters who was named and beautiful ("bright and feminine like Baoqi, and Yu Na was as merry as Daiyu") and the character Keqing to Baoyu, taught him the knowledge of male and female customs, and then hid herself.
Na Baoyu is in a trance, tender and affectionate with Keqing, soft and warm, indistinguishable, and indescribable. The two traveled hand in hand, and were jubilant, when suddenly a black stream blocked the road in front, only to see the police chasing after them from behind, shouting: "Misty is dangerous, it is important to turn back quickly!" Before the words could be spoken, there was a thunderclap in the maze, and many Yasha sea ghosts appeared and dragged Baoyu into the water. Frightened, Baoyu lost his voice and shouted: "But Qing save me!" But Qing save me! ”
Frightened, the maids hurriedly came up and hugged them, shouting: "Baoyu is not afraid, we are here!" But it was said that the Qin family was outside the room to instruct the little girls to watch the cats and dogs fighting, and suddenly heard Baoyu calling her little name in a dream, because she wondered: "My little name is unknown here, how did he know and call it out in his dream?" ”
Jia Baoyu's God Que Tai Void Realm is the general outline of the fate of the characters in the whole book. Cao Xueqin, by writing Baoyu A Dream, reveals the fate and ending of the 15 main female characters of Jinling Twelve, Qingwen, Zhaoren, and Xiangling, as well as Jia Baoyu, all suggesting that in this judgment, fairy song, and picture, it reflects Cao Xueqin's overall design and conception of characters, structure, and plot.
Revealing the fate of the main characters to the reader at the beginning of the novel is taboo for novel creation, because it eliminates the commonly known suspense and weakens people's interest in reading. But what Cao Xueqin did here did not produce such a drawback. This is because whether it is a picture or a song, they are only a hidden word and a lie, and even if you guess who it is written about, it is only a rough idea. Therefore, instead of weakening the reader's interest in reading, it will arouse the reader's enthusiasm to explore its hidden and mysterious meanings.
Cao Xueqin made Jia Baoyu's dream break through the sky, foreshadowing the clues of many characters, making "Dream of the Red Mansion" a chaotic and vast work of fate, increasing the mystery of the remnants of "Dream of the Red Mansion", and providing many conjectures for the study of the remnants of "Dream of the Red Mansion". Therefore, although "Dream of the Red Mansion" is not finished, red scholars can diligently explore the mystery from Baoyu's dream.
Jia Baoyu's mind is too void, is a very important mythological structure of "Dream of the Red Mansion", when you read the whole book and then look back and savor it, the judgment, pictures, and twelve songs of the Dream of the Red Mansion can be said to be an elegy for the fate of the twelve kings of Jinling! I dare not imagine how Cao Xueqin could come up with such a structure! It seems that there is a heavenly eye watching the fate and sorrow and joy of a group of sentient beings in our world.
