The faster the development of new energy vehicles, the closer the fuel vehicle is to the day of the ban. At present, many countries have given a timetable for the ban on the sale of fuel vehicles, especially in the European region, and some European countries will even start to implement the policy of banning the sale of fuel vehicles in 2025.
Although the mainland has not said when it will ban the sale of fuel vehicles, Hainan Province and Taiwan Province have clearly stipulated that the sale of fuel vehicles will be banned in 2030 and 2040, respectively. At first glance, the mainland is still relatively stable about banning the sale of fuel vehicles, and has not taken action until now.
Europe has strongly banned the sale of fuel vehicles
The continent is vast, and different regions have different living environments, from Heilongjiang to Hainan, from the eastern coast to the Pamir Plateau, not only spanning large latitude and longitude, but also having a very different altitude. Pure electric vehicles want to quickly replace fuel vehicles in China, which is simply impossible to achieve.
In Europe, on the other hand, it is much easier to promote pure electric vehicles. First, because Europe is mostly a small country, the territory area is not large, and the current range of pure electric vehicles is completely sufficient for most countries in Europe. Second, Most of Europe is a developed country, and the construction of pure electric vehicle infrastructure is also more perfect.
In June 2022, the European Parliament adopted a report in Strasbourg advocating that the sale of new fuel vehicles in the EU be stopped from 2035, and it is worth mentioning that the ban also includes hybrid vehicles.
In addition, the report also includes a number of requirements related to the automotive industry, including a 55% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from vehicles in the EU by 2030 compared with 2021 and a 100% reduction by 2035, fully entering the era of new energy vehicles. At the same time, more than 1 million charging stations will be built in Europe by 2025 and 3.5 million charging stations by 2030. In addition, a charging station must be installed every 60 km of the highway, and a hydrogen refueling station must be installed every 150 km.
In this way, Europe, as the birthplace of fuel vehicles, will completely end the era of fuel vehicles in more than a decade.
China VII emission standards will become a nightmare for fuel vehicles
Although the mainland has not given a timetable for banning the sale of fuel vehicles except Hainan Province and Taiwan Province, this does not mean that fuel vehicles will always exist in China, which is not difficult to see from the increasingly stringent emission indicators.
In 2001, the mainland officially issued the National I emission standards, and now the implementation of the National VI emission standards, from the National I to the National VI, each update of the emission standards will be more stringent on the emission of vehicle exhaust. In particular, the national six b emission standards, on the basis of the national five, almost every item has been directly cut off, so that many car companies feel pressure.
So many car brands in order to meet the National VI B emission standards, because the technical difficulty is too great, have to install particle traps, and after the installation of particle traps can meet the National VI B emission standards, but will sacrifice the performance of the vehicle, as well as increase fuel consumption. With the arrival of the National VII emission standard, for fuel vehicles, even if it is equipped with a particle trap, it will not help.
Although the specific content and implementation time of the National VII emission standards are still unknown, at the beginning of the year, the "14th Five-Year Plan" energy conservation and emission reduction comprehensive plan (2021-2025) issued by the State Council mentioned the National VII emission standards, which stated: "The seventh phase of light vehicles, heavy vehicle emission standards and oil quality standards will be studied and formulated." ”
The full implementation of the China VII emission standards will not be later than 2030, and it is expected to be implemented between 2025 and 2030. The specific emission content, we can also learn from the Upcoming Euro VII emission standards to be implemented in 2025. Euro 7 emission standards stipulate that carbon monoxide emissions will be reduced from the current 500-1000 mg/km to 100-300 mg/km, while nitrogen oxide emissions must be reduced to 30 mg/km.
If euro vii is compared with china vi b, it can be found that the euro vii emission standard will be based on china vi b, and carbon monoxide emissions will be halved again. According to the usual strategy of being stricter than that of Europe in China, the National VII standard is likely to be that the carbon monoxide emissions should not be more than 300mg/km, and at the same time, under normal road conditions, nitrogen oxide emissions are not higher than 30mg/km. The arrival of China VII is undoubtedly a "death sentence" for fuel vehicles, and the particle trap cannot be powerless.
Write at the end:
Although the mainland has not announced a timetable for banning the sale of fuel vehicles, increasingly stringent emission targets will eventually leave fuel vehicles with nowhere to go. The result of increasingly stringent emission standards is that the cost of fuel vehicles will continue to increase, so that car companies will have to transform to new energy vehicles, and this time node will also come around 2030.
