Meditation gives the brain a rest

author:If the mind is not different, it is the same

First, why meditate to let the brain rest

Meditation or standing on a pile is very helpful for good health. The principle is to calm down and return to the state of "idyllic nothingness", so that "true qi will come from it", that is, the life function will gradually recover and be full, so that the body's illness will recover and return to a healthy state. And only in this process of complete rest, idyllic and empty true qi will the brain nerves begin to recover and evolve, which in turn can make people become clear-headed, memory better, and responsive. In fact, there have been a lot of related scientific research, interested in it can be understood.

Usually, a large part of the energy in life is consumed in the brain, one is because the brain thinks, and the other is because the eyes, ears and other sensory operations must use the brain. Meditation allows the brain to rest, and the turbidity of the brain descends and intersects with the kidney qi, a process called "heart-kidney intersection" (or "water and fire together"). For example, sometimes when you are about to fall asleep, you will be shocked because of the "heart and kidney intersection", and then fall asleep quickly. So the effect of calming down is self-evident.

But how to calm down, in fact, many times I am not willing to calm down, because I am used to living in the realm of the senses, accustomed to constantly watching, listening, thinking, touching... It's like a guinea pig on a roller that keeps running, and the wheel keeps rolling and can't stop.

It is still necessary to gradually develop the habit of sitting quietly for a while every day, not necessarily for a long time each time, even if it is only fifteen minutes. But the initial meditation, which adds up to at least an hour in pieces each day. After gradually developing the habit of meditation in this way, after also realizing the benefits of meditation, gradually increase the time of meditation.

Come back to the relationship between meditation and the brain. In fact, after a little meditation experience, you will find that it is not easy to let the brain rest. As long as your spirit cannot completely break away from the six dust realms of eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind, and achieve the return to the light, then the brain has not completely rested.

How can the brain be completely rested? The head and body are completely relaxed and rested, just like entering a deep sleep, and the breathing is also if there is nothing, but the mind is clear and incomparably clear, there is no dreaming, and there is no attention to the six dust realms. At this time, the brain is completely rested. According to the Taoists of later generations, it is to transcend the acquired realm and return to the innate realm, because the six consciousnesses of the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind belong to the acquired realm, and the innate realm has not yet entered the realm of the six consciousnesses.

Second, how to meditate to achieve a complete rest of the brain?

1, the first step, first of all, let go of the distinction. That is, for example, the voice of the outside world, you are listening, but do not judge, do not discriminate, hear and do not hear; The feelings of the body are not judged, not differentiated. In the same way, there is no distinction between the six dust realms (including not thinking). This first step is actually not easy to do, if you are skilled, you can refer to the first step of the Buddhist "anti-smelling and smelling self-nature", starting from listening to the sound to make no distinction between the sounds, it is relatively easy. Or if you really can't calm down, first through methods such as watching and breathing, first calm down, and then do the work of letting go of the distinction.

After letting go of the effort of separation for a long time, you will find that although you do not distinguish between these six dust realms, your mind is still stuck to these realms and cannot be separated. That is to say, for example, the voices of the outside world, if you don't want to hear them, you have to listen, and if you can't do it, you can't listen; The feeling of the body, not wanting to feel is also feeling, can not do not feel. At this time, it is necessary to go further, and this is precisely the more difficult step, in fact, many people have been meditating for many years, and he is only staying in the first step.

2. The second step, at this time, to go further, is to let go of the climbing edge of the six dust realms. This step is particularly difficult, for example, if you divert your attention or force yourself to let go, it is futile, because it is not letting go.

There is a need for a key here, and that is "Prajnaparamita" and "Wisdom". I will not expand on it here, and those who are interested can go to the books themselves. But for example, if someone dreams of himself, others, the mountains and rivers of the earth, he does not know that this is a dream in the dream, he treats everything as true, so he loves and hates in it, tightens himself very tightly, wakes up, and finds that he is sweating; Suppose he suddenly found that those were originally dreams, so he decided not to fall into the dream again, at this time he can be considered to let go.

It can be said that if there is no "Prajnaparamita" and "Wisdom", you cannot really let go of the climbing of the Six Dust Realms, because just like thinking that the dream is real, you will always be unwilling to come out in the dream, looking for answers in the dream, and finding liberation in the dream. In fact, only by seeing the essence of dreams can we let go of dreams and choose not to dream.

The same is true for meditation, only when you see the essence of the Six Dust Realms, will your mind let go, will you decide not to climb the Dust Realm, and can you reach the true return to the light. At this time, you will enter another realm, which is very wonderful, only to experience it yourself, it cannot be described.

When you really let go of the climbing edge and the heart is completely indwelled, the brain is completely rested, at this time not only the brain, including the internal organs have begun to rest, on the surface this person seems to be asleep, but this person's heart is clear, there is no trace of confusion, and this person's breathing has been very light, if there is nothing. When you reach this realm, you can barely be regarded as "idyllic and nihilistic", at this time you will find that the qi pulse inside the body changes rapidly, the so-called "true qi from it", and the spirit of the spirit also begins to be full of energy, and gradually feels bright.

At this time, does this person know nothing about the outside world? No, on the contrary, it was clear, but his mind was no longer glued to the Six Dust Realm, nor was it discriminating against the outside world, so the movement of the outside world would not interfere with him. For example, if someone is talking to him next to him, he can decide for himself whether to pay attention to the person talking, he can choose not to be affected if he does not move, of course, if it is an important matter, he can also choose to open his eyes and talk to this person. However, this is the initial state of silence, if you go deep into the depths, you may not really hear the sounds of the outside world, I have a limited level, I can only calm down shallowly, and I have not experienced concentration.

Third, review the key points

This "Prajnaparamita" and "Wisdom" are only clearly put forward by the Buddhists, and the Taoists also have hidden ones, but other religions do not have them. There are also some in the Tao Te Ching, but ordinary people can't understand it. In the Tao Te Ching, it is said that the "Tao" gives birth to all things, and that this "Tao" is not external, but internal, and that it is necessary to calm down, return to the roots, return to life, and reach the realm of Xuanzhi and Xuan to experience the "Tao", that is to say, all phenomena and dust are the manifestations of this "Tao", is this not very similar to "Prajna" and "Wisdom"? Because only this can break the mind's attachment to phenomena, to let go, to return to the light, to return to the original. Therefore, to say that letting go of climbing is something that can only be done by practicing according to the Buddhist method. Otherwise, it is fixed on a certain phenomenon or object, and it may be fixed, but it cannot be "not taken from the phase, as if it were not moving."

Of course, this is just talking about meditation, and my level is also very shallow. In fact, "Prajnaparamita" and "Wisdom" are very profound, if you learn well, not only are they useful when meditating, but they also play a role in living and treating people and things, it can be said that all times work, and "Prajnaparamita" and "Wisdom" are through all realms.

As an aside, some people like to tell others how long they meditate each time, counting the minutes and seconds very clearly. In fact, it is good to be able to sit for a long time, but it is good to write articles every day to tell others how long they sit, to see what their mentality is, if it is just to mention the motivation of others to meditate, it is a good thing; But if it is to show oneself, it is not very good, because this kind of mind will lead to the inability to really "let go" of all the dust when meditating, and it is impossible to completely return to the original. After all, people are a bunch of moving parts combined together as a whole, when meditating to break the "person" phase, will not even want to say words, because after all, there is no "people" we usually call, to whom to say?
