The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and non-OPEC oil producers held the 32nd ministerial meeting by video on the 5th and decided to reduce production slightly in October, reducing the monthly output by an average of 100,000 barrels per day in that month. This is the first time that a major oil-producing country has lowered its monthly production since August 2021.
