Immediately after the rendezvous, the Chinese and Russian fleets conducted coordinated training in the waters of the Sea of Japan, including the protection of maritime traffic and economic zones, as well as the cover of the movement of ground forces. In the face of the existence of "enemy submarines", the Chinese and Russian fleets trained to search for "enemy submarines" in the closed waters of the Sea of Japan, and after locking the position of "enemy submarines", they used anti-submarine weapons such as depth charges to simulate the destruction of "enemy submarines". During the entire training process, the fleet was full of firepower, using a variety of reconnaissance methods, as well as artillery, missiles, depth charges and other weapons and equipment. It can be said that this is a large-scale training operation with a very high degree of simulated actual combat, and it is a large-scale and high-intensity diversified exercise.

The Chinese side of the military exercise was driven by a large-scale pressure array of 0.55 million tons, and the Russian side also sent the 20,000-ton missile survey ship "Marshal Krylov" and the destroyer "Marshal Shaposhnikov" to participate in the exercise, which shows that both China and Russia attach great importance to the military exercise, and also strive to achieve a high degree of interaction and coordinated combat training between the two sides at the level of the capital ship. In addition to the maritime military exercises, the PLA has also sent ground troops, as well as more than 300 various types of equipment, 21 fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, to participate in other projects of the "Vostok-2022" strategic exercise.
