Zhou Zhongying came out of Nantong, Jiangsu Province in June 1928, and is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a famous master of traditional Chinese medicine in mainland China. Zhou has been practicing medicine for generations and is a famous local family of traditional Chinese medicine. When Zhou Zhongying was born, his father Zhou Xiaozhai was 29 years old, and although he was young, he became a famous local doctor with superb medical skills.

Zhou Zhongying grew up in his own clinic and pharmacy, not only knew a lot of Chinese medicine, but also learned a lot of Chinese medicine knowledge, more importantly, saw his father help patients get rid of the pain, and his heart planted the seeds of learning medicine from a young age.

At the age of 13, Zhou Zhongying formally studied Chinese medicine with her father. His father loved him very much, but he did not relax his requirements for him, he was very strict with Zhou Zhongying, starting from medical classics such as "Neijing" and "Typhoid Fever", systematically learning a lot of Chinese medicine classics, and for key places, his father even asked him to recite the original text. Under the strict requirements of her father, Zhou Zhongying has made very rapid progress, and she can go to the clinic with her father at the age of 17, and even go to the clinic independently when her father is not there.

In 1947, Zhou Zhongying, who already had rich clinical experience, was admitted to the Shanghai Medical College to study in the Chinese Medicine Physician Training Class. Under the tutelage of Shanghai's famous old Chinese medicine practitioners Zhang Cigong, Zhu Hegao and Jiang Wenfang, these masters personally taught and taught clinically. Zhou Zhongying is very successful here, not only consolidating the theoretical foundation and clinical experience of traditional Chinese medicine, but also familiar with the strengths of various medical schools, and the thinking is more open.

Two years later, that is, the year of the founding of New China, Zhou Zhongying returned to her hometown to conduct independent medical treatment after graduating with excellent results. Because of his medical skills, he soon became famous, even surpassing his father. In 1955, Zhou Zhongying was again admitted to Jiangsu Province for further study of traditional Chinese medicine. After entering the school, Zhou Zhongying was very surprised to find that famous doctors such as Shi Zou Yunxiang, Cao Minggao, and Fan Tiantu were all teachers here.

During his studies, he not only gained a deeper understanding of the classic works of Chinese medicine, but also received training in Western medicine, further broadened his thinking, increased his insights, and laid the foundation for later research in Chinese medicine. Beginning in 1956, Zhou Zhongying began to work in Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a resident.

Zhou Zhongying has a deep theoretical foundation, a long history of family learning, studied from many famous doctors of many schools, coupled with high understanding, rich clinical experience, and good at comprehensively applying the various theories of traditional Chinese medicine, so he soon stood out, and put forward a lot of new arguments and treatment methods, especially in the treatment of emergency diseases has made extraordinary achievements, greatly improving the treatment rate of chinese medicine for emergency diseases.

In the treatment of epidemic hemorrhagic fever, Zhou Zhongying synthesized the theories of various schools such as typhoid fever and wen disease, put forward the "three poisons" theory of "heat poison, stasis poison and water poison", and put forward a new thesis that "the pathology center is in the gas camp, focusing on the camp blood" according to the characteristics of each disease period. Accordingly, he improved the treatment method and significantly improved the efficacy.

In the treatment of shock, Zhou Zhongying proposed "stagnation and stasis, internal closure and external detachment" as the pathological characteristics of shock, and at the same time pioneered the simultaneous treatment of qi and blood, and created a series of injections, treating 258 cases, with a case fatality rate of only 4%.

In the treatment of acute renal failure, Zhou Zhongying believes that "stasis hot water knot, yinjin consumption injury" is the cause of its disease, using the treatment methods of stasis, yin and shengjin, and at the same time developed into a laxative stasis mixture, treating 230 cases, with a significant efficiency of 89% and a total effective rate of 97%.

In addition to emergencies, Zhou Zhongying's deepest, longest-lasting, widest and most significant results are "bruising fever". Since the 1970s, Zhou Zhongying has conducted systematic research on the theory of blood stasis. In long-term clinical practice, he found that a large number of acute external fever and many miscellaneous diseases have the same blood fever evidence and blood stasis evidence, if the use of heat and cool blood method or blood stasis method for treatment, the efficacy is often not good. Therefore, through in-depth research and clinical verification, he finally clearly put forward the evidence of "stasis and fever fighting". It has opened up a new realm of blood stasis research in Traditional Chinese medicine.

These new ideas and new methods proposed by Zhou Lao have theoretically enriched Chinese medicine, developed Chinese medicine in the clinic, and benefited countless patients. In order to pass on these new ideas and new methods of his own, he has been working tirelessly for many years, pouring his latest thoughts on Chinese medicine into the paper. He has successively edited "Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine", "Emergency Medicine of Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine", "Essence of Evidence and Treatment of Miscellaneous Diseases in Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine" and other works.
