How did Kwon Ki-wook come to China, and how did she become China's first female flight graduate?

In 1901, Kwon Ki-wook was born into a wealthy family in Pyongyang, North Korea. Because his father did not do the right thing, he lost the family property accumulated by his ancestors and began to fall in the family road when Kwon Ki-wook was 4 years old.

However, the family still gave Kwon Ki-woo the opportunity to receive an education, and Kwon Ki-woo also lived up to expectations and achieved excellent results since childhood. She was hungry for knowledge, especially mathematics and science, which laid a solid foundation for her to become a pilot in the future.

In 1916, 15-year-old Kwon Ki-wook was in middle school.

At that time, the iron hooves of the Japanese army had entered Pyongyang, and the Korean Peninsula had completely fallen into a Japanese colony, full of hunger and death, and the people were not happy.

Quan Jiyu received a new-style education, had a strong sense of patriotism and independence, and was determined to fight for the restoration of the motherland for a lifetime.

For national independence, she began to actively campaign and joined a secret society.

In September 1917, after watching the American air show, Kwon Ki-yu secretly decided: "I want to learn the art of flying, take the bomb on the plane, and blow up Japan!" ”

In 1919, Kwon participated in the "Three Ones" movement against Japanese colonial rule, was arrested by the Japanese police, and was sentenced to 6 months in prison.

● The "Three·One" Movement

After her release, Quan Jiyu did not give up the struggle, she continued to organize her classmates to actively resist Japan and call on the people to wake up.

After the "March 1" movement was suppressed by Japan, the Korean people's anti-Japanese patriotic movement entered a low tide period, and for this reason, many patriots came to China to save the country.

Kwon Ki-wook is one of them.

In the late spring of 1921, Kwon Ki-wook entered the Hangzhou Hongdao Girls' High School to study hard, working hard to learn Chinese and English.

After graduating, Kwon Ki-wook came to shanghai to teach at the private Rencheng Primary School.

But Quan Jiyu always has a blue sky dream in his heart, looking forward to one day being able to fly to the blue sky and fight for the rejuvenation of the motherland.

Soon, she waited for her chance.

In 1920, tang Jiyao, the "king of Yunnan", founded the Yunnan Aviation School in Kunming, and after Quan Jiyu learned of this news, he went to Kunming to study.

Liu Peiquan, the principal of the aviation school at the time, saw the weak girl in front of him and shook his head repeatedly: "How can the girl's family learn to fly?" ”

But at the insistence of Quan Jiyu, Liu Peiquan accepted this female student out of the box.

In this way, Quan Jiyu became a transfer student in the first phase of The Yunnan Aviation School and began to learn to fly.

Many rich ladies and celebrities heard that a foreigner with unassuming appearance and glasses had become a female pilot, felt fashionable, and eagerly tried, but within a few days they were defeated.

Because flight training not only requires excellent physical fitness, but also training is too hard.

In Kwon Ki-yu's view, these sufferings are nothing at all. Every morning in the morning, you can see the figure of Kwon Ki-yu trying to practice flying.

Her perseverance and bravery are no less than those of men, and her soaring and heroic posture in the blue sky has become an example for the vast number of patriotic women.

But Quan Jiyu, who actively resisted Japan, has always been a thorn in the eye of Japan.

When it was learned that Kwon Jiyu was studying at the Yunnan Aviation School, the Japanese repeatedly tried to assassinate him.

The Japanese consulate even directly demanded that the aviation school hand over Quan Jiyu, but the school lied that there were no foreign female students, so that Quan Jiyu escaped the disaster.

Therefore, she actively participated in the cause of China's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and contributed her own strength to the War of Resistance Against Japan.

With a letter of appointment from the Korean Provisional Government, she went alone to Feng Yuxiang's unit in Beijing and joined the flying team.

She flew many times to participate in the battle, and was the only female pilot to participate in the Northern Expedition.
