In Dorset, England, there is a place called Poundbury.
Unlike most towns, this place sits on the domain of Prince Charles.
After the war, Prince Charles had been trying to change the direction of post-war urban construction, so this place was built according to the guidelines set by Charles.
Charles wanted to break with the traditional model and create an attractive place for people to live, work and play. There are currently about 4,200 inhabitants here.
But in this place, a recent resident encountered difficulties...
Alexander-Wilson-Jones, 49, a landscape architect, recently received eviction notice from her landlord asking her to move out of her rental house by Sept. 27 at the latest.
The reason is that she has too much green vegetation in the public courtyard...
For this reason, Alexandra said it was unacceptable:
I'm sure Prince Charles will love my garden, and the landlord's move goes against Poundbury's original planning intentions.
After my mother's death, gardening became my greatest hobby and made my body and mind healthier.
So when I received the eviction letter, I was shocked.
The garden did not cause harm to anyone and also beautified the environment.
Therefore, I submitted a petition to Prince Charles in the hope of his support.
Under Poundbury's rules, residents must comply with the following rules:
- The exterior of the house may not be painted or decorated in any different colour without the consent of Prince Charles
- No alterations or additions may be made to the exterior of the property without Prince Charles' planning permission and approval
- No additional fences or walls are erected around the property
- Do not remove any trees or shrubs planted within the confines of the house
- Billboards or house names may not be placed in the windows or exteriors of any house without the approval of Prince Charles
- Caravans or boats must not be brought into the property or placed in a parking space
- Residents must not obstruct traffic, roads or sidewalks in public areas.
A spokesperson for Duchy Estates, which manages the company, said:
We note that a large amount of private vegetation is placed in public gardens without permission, obstructing traffic. An expulsion order was therefore issued.
But Alexandra believes that these vegetation are not obstacles, only hindering her own garage, and will not affect others.

Others believe that vegetation does not have any adverse effects and that there is no need to be expelled because of it...
