On 18 August 2022, 47 hong Kong independence suspects were arrested and brought to court for "conspiracy to subvert state power" to handle the procedures for formal trial before the High Court. When asked whether they were guilty of denial, 29 people, including Tai Yaoting, Joshua Wong, Mao Mengjing, Yang Yueqiao, etc., actually pleaded guilty in court, which was very different from their attitude when they announced the "Ten Steps of True Speculation" route in 2019 and later, and the change was so great that Hong Kong citizens were surprised and ridiculed them.
Since the Hong Kong National Security Law came into effect in June 2020, the Hong Kong Police National Security Department has taken the knife and arrested this large number of Hong Kong independence leaders in accordance with the law, restoring social calm in less than a year and allowing the public to live a worry-free life again. Without the full support of the central authorities, the SAR Government itself simply does not have enough energy to effectively handle the situation, and it is certainly not easy to take the first step of "from chaos to governance, but it is also a relatively difficult step, and the subsequent "rule by rule and rejuvenation" is far from being so simple, and it can even be said that it is dangerous and obstructive everywhere. The result is the only test of truth, and let us let the events of recent events speak for themselves.
In the 2019 CUHK campus riots, duan Chongzhi, the president of Chinese University, who clearly sided with the Hong Kong independence rioters and deliberately obstructed the police riot control team from enforcing the law at the scene to suppress the riots, was not only still in office, but also received a renewal of 3 years. This incident has aroused the extreme dissatisfaction of patriotic and Hong Kong-loving people in the city, including Leung Chun-ying, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and many members of the Legislative Council, but the SAR government seems to be still handling this matter and has not made any statement for the time being. However, common sense tells us that if the garbage is not removed one day, it will continue to breed rats and cockroaches.
Trampling on national security lectures
August 11 is Chinese University's "Orientation Day", and all first-year students are required to return to the university to register and listen to the introduction of the college. Due to the requirements of the Hong Kong National Security Law, this year's CUHK "Welcome Day" has added a national security lecture by a legislator. Soon after the lecture began, a large number of new students left the lecture hall, visually measuring more than half of them, which not only embarrassed the speakers, but also obviously trampled on the "Hong Kong National Security Law".
Such a blatant act of opposing the laws of the state has certainly attracted a lot of public opinion, but Duan Chongzhi and the management of CUHK are completely different from each other, and no punitive action, even verbal warnings, has been taken against the students who caused the incident. Cai Ruolian, the secretary of the Education Bureau, is only playing an official role, and it is a matter of taking things lightly. If the government still shows a consistent attitude of appeasement at this time and does not take effective reward and punishment measures to change this unhealthy trend, when these "Hong Kong independence yellow silk" students enter social work a few years later, there will certainly be another group of people who oppose the government explicitly or implicitly.
In the 5th wave of the new crown epidemic outbreak in early 2022, the infection rate of the elderly over 60 years old was particularly high, because some hospitals refused to take in the diagnosed elderly from nursing homes, leaving them to fend for themselves in the hospital, or after only a few days in the hospital, they rushed back to the hospital when the new crown virus was not cleared, and the result was, of course, a wide outbreak of mass infection. In this wave of the epidemic, the cumulative death toll has exceeded 9,000, and a very large part of them are the elderly living in nursing homes, and the situation is miserable. Logically, the whole society should have learned enough lessons in this tragedy and never repeat the same mistakes, but it turns out that we are too natural and think too much!
The epidemic in Hong Kong is still very serious
Recently, the COVID-19 epidemic in Hong Kong has gradually become more serious, and the number of confirmed cases has jumped from more than 3,000, more than 4,000 and more than 5,000 to 6,054 yesterday (August 18), almost a peak every day, and the death toll has also accumulated rapidly to 9,376. The public has a sharp rise in the number of confirmed cases, most of them are the elderly, the mystery was finally unveiled by the media the day before yesterday, it turned out that the black doctor and nursing techniques were repeated, and once again directed the tragedy of "murdering" the elderly.
A member of the Hong Kong Elderly Affairs Committee confirmed to the media that many confirmed elderly patients were admitted to the hospital for only 5 days, and then they were forcibly sent back to the nursing home by black medical care because of the low amount of virus (note: not a negative nucleic acid test certificate), and the result was of course a repeat of the disaster. The repatriated elderly soon caused a collective infection in the relevant hospitals, which were forced to send them to quarantine centers for isolation. If the reward and punishment are not clear, it is to encourage thieves to commit crimes in disguise, which is a reason that even children understand, but during the COVID-19 epidemic for more than 2 years, no relevant officials and black doctors have ever been investigated for dereliction of duty or deliberate sabotage, let alone punished.
The Hong Kong independence gang has taken a keen eye on the appeasement mentality of the SAR government, so it uses black medical care to secretly carry out all kinds of delays and sabotage in the fight against the epidemic, obstructing the normal customs clearance between the two places, so as to achieve the effect of de facto Hong Kong independence. If the epidemic situation cannot be dynamically cleared to zero, and there is no end to the normal customs clearance in the mainland, not only will the health and life of the citizens be seriously threatened for a long time, but there will be no way to take steps in matters related to the economy and people's livelihood, so I am afraid that it will have a serious adverse impact on the "governance and rejuvenation" emphasized by the central government.
On 12 August, the HKSAR Government announced the establishment of a regional affairs co-ordination working group headed by The Deputy Secretary for Administration, Mr Cheuk Wing-hing, to tackle 600 "stubborn" health black spots in Hong Kong. In the past few days, Deputy Director General Zhuo has led relevant officials and staff to drill into the back alleys and garbage heaps of black spots every day, which cannot be said to be forceless, but there is a so-called locksmith who complains through the media that the government does not pay attention to people who post large illegal street signs, and only targets small fish and shrimp like him, which is very unfair. In my opinion, this is a typical trick of Hong Kong independence sabotage, using the method of picking bones in the egg to smear measures that are originally beneficial to the people, and then expanding negative remarks through the media to obstruct government administration.
For more than a month, many red lights have been lit, and if we add to the arrest of some current civil servants for setting up online platforms that openly incite anti-government, we can clearly see that under the seemingly calm surface, there are actually landmines everywhere. If Chief Executive Lee Ka-chiu wants to fulfill his promise of "taking results as the goal" and lead Hong Kong to "govern and prosper" in a reasonable period of time, he may have to estimate all kinds of difficulties and obstacles a little more!
