The Focal Point for Novel Coronavirus Infection Response announces that, after taking into account the actual needs of the locality and assessing the risk and changes in the epidemic situation in the relevant countries, the Health Bureau has made Announcement No. 388/A/SS/2022, which stipulates paragraph 3 of the Chief Executive's Instruction No. 64/2022, from 00:00 on 22 August 2022, non-local residents who do not have the status of residents of the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or Taiwan, Those who have not been to a place outside the Chinese mainland in the 10 days prior to entry and who have any of the conditions for returning to the Chinese mainland macao special administrative region without having to apply for a visa may enter the Macao Special Administrative Region by Chinese mainland without the need for prior approval from the health authorities, subject to other entry conditions.

However, holders of a valid Portuguese passport do not have to meet the conditions for returning to Chinese mainland, nor can they enter the Macao Special Administrative Region by Chinese mainland without prior approval from the health authorities, subject to other entry conditions.

According to chief executive's directive No. 64/2022, non-residents other than residents of the Chinese mainland, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Taiwan are prohibited from entering the country, but the health authorities may, on an exceptional basis, exempt certain persons or categories of persons from complying with the relevant measures.

Announcement No. 313/A/SS/2022, Announcement No. 320/A/SS/2022 and Announcement No. 388/A/SS/2022 of the Health Bureau, non-residents other than residents of the Chinese mainland, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Taiwan may enter the Macao Special Administrative Region by Chinese mainland without prior approval from the health authorities, subject to other entry conditions:

Holders of a valid Portuguese passport;

Holders of a valid passport who have any of the following for a long-term stay in Macau:

a

The Public Security Police Department issues supporting documents for the granting of a valid "residence permit" or "special permit to stay";

b

Holding a non-resident employee identification card or "entry certificate for work purposes";

c

Holder of the "Application Document Receipt" passed by the preliminary examination of the "Employment Permit for Professional Non-Resident Employees" issued by the Labour Affairs Bureau and the "Residence Permit for Employee Status" issued by the Public Security Police Department;

d

Holders of a "Special Permit to Stay" for members of the Professional Non-Resident Employees' Family Group.

Have a valid passport and meet any of the following conditions to re-enter the Chinese mainland:

a

The passport is an applicable document of the Sino-foreign visa exemption agreement;

b

Holder of a valid residence permit for foreigners in the People's Republic of China for work, private affairs or reunion;

c

Holder of a valid diplomatic, official, courtesy, C-character People's Republic of China visa;

d

Other visas in the People's Republic of China that are valid for 1 month or more;

and

Holder of a valid Permanent Residence Identity Card for Foreigners of the People's Republic of China;

f

Holders of a valid China Travel Permit, Exit/Entry Permit of the People's Republic of China or other documents that allow for re-entry Chinese mainland.
