Jurgen Klopp is expected to start Darwin Nunes for the first time in the Premier League in Liverpool's clash with Crystal Palace on Monday, with Patrick Vieira well aware of the striker's abilities.
Last month, the Uruguayan came off the bench before the Reds scored again in their premier League draw at Fulham.
Liverpool's bland performance at Craven's cabin led Klopp to ask Nunes to start for the first time against Crystal Palace, with Roberto Firmino likely to give way.
That could be bad news for Crystal Palace, who started their season with a 2-0 loss to Arsenal at Selhurst Park.
Asked about Nunes' threats before the Hawks head to Anfield, head coach Vieira said he was well aware of the striker before he made a big money move to Liverpool.
"We watch the games, we watch football, we watch all over Europe," he told reporters last week.
"He scored in the previous team and he was a well-known striker. The players know him. ”
"He can run to the back and go deep into the opponent's team. He stormed their centre-backs. He didn't give them much time on the ball – he was a fighter, he had determination and he was a hard-working centre-forward. ”
Liverpool's £85m deal with Nunes made him the most expensive player in the club's history, but Vieira said he was "not surprised" by Liverpool's decision to pay such a price for him.
"He's the image of a modern centre-forward, defending very well, working hard, but at the same time being able to score goals," he continued.
"You're not surprised when you see his price tag. He's the perfect striker. ”
