At this year's Eurosatory 2022, the Czech Excalibur Army unveiled a new generation of 52×155 mm wheeled self-propelled guns, named Morana, a goddess of winter and illusion in the mythology of Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Since its establishment in 1995, excalibur Army has inherited the design basis of the 152-mm DANA in Czechoslovakia in the 1970s, and has developed a variety of wheeled self-propelled guns such as DANA M1, DANA M2 and DITA; Morana continued to use the Tatra T815-7 8x8 military truck chassis, but the body layout was greatly adjusted, with the engine remounted in the middle of the body and the turret moved to the rear section. The Morana uses the NATO standard 155mm/52x-diameter howitzer, which uses extended-range ammunition with a maximum range of 41.5km, the ammunition compartment is equipped with an automated loading system with a maximum capacity of 45 rounds, a maximum rate of fire of 6 rounds per minute, and a continuous rate of fire of 5 rounds per minute thereafter; in addition, a liftable and concealable 12.7mm machine gun remote control weapons station (RWS) is equipped on the left side of the turret. Each Morana only needs to be equipped with a gun commander, shooter and driver of 3 personnel, located in the armored cockpit in front of the car can operate the gun to perform firing tasks, and when the system fails, it can enter the turret to take manual operation; The cockpit also has a 4th seat to support personnel to operate drones or other reconnaissance equipment.
