The Czech town of Cesky Krumlov is well deservedly known as the most beautiful town in the world. The town, which now has only 14,100 inhabitants, is located in the Bohemia region of the southern Czech Republic. It is located in the upper reaches of the Vltava River, about 160 km from Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
The city flourished in the 13th century due to its location on an important trade route. Most of the buildings were built between the 14th and 17th centuries, mostly in the Gothic and Baroque styles.
The town is surrounded by the horseshoe-shaped, wide, winding Vltava River that flows through it, while the famous castle is built on the other side of the river. Ascend to the far side and marvel at the medieval city centered on the castle. In 1992, UNESCO announced that it had been awarded the title of World Heritage Site.
St. Vitus Church, located in Cesky Krumlov, shares its name from St. Vitus Church in Prague and is a Gothic landmark with Baroque style.
It is the center of the faith of the locals and the source of the city's development.
The church has 15th-century frescoes, a huge Baroque organ made in 1716 on the second floor, as well as stone pillars, a temple and an elaborate dome.
St. Vitus Church stands on the banks of the Vltava River, with its spire towering through the clouds, built in the late Gothic period 1407-1438 and later renovated. It was declared a National Cultural Monument in 1995.
The Latin and Old German "Cesky Krumlov" refers to this land, meaning "uneven meadows." Refers to a place next to a meandering meadow or water surface, depicting the geography of the Vltava waterway winding around the land.
According to historical records, the land of Cesky Krumlov has been inhabited for a long time as early as 6000 BC. In the 13th century, the Whitke family of south Bohemian hao built castles and old towns here, and there are still written records. In 1374, there were only 96 houses. By the 14th century, the Vitke family had died out, and the Rogermwelk family had become the rulers of the area.
In the 16th century, the town was extremely prosperous. In the 18th century, the Schwarzenberg family came to control the area. These families have had a huge influence in the local area.
Cross the small bridge and you will reach the Town Hall Square. The town hall of the medieval town is a white 3-story building. Thanks to its well-preserved preservation, visitors see the same scenery as they did 300 or even 500 years ago.
On the outskirts of the town, you can see the somewhat colorful Kasbah Tower, the tallest building in the town and the most obvious coordinate of Cesky Krumlov, which is the second largest Czech castle after Prague Castle. The cobblestone streets, flowing water and bridges that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site make up everything about the ancient town.
The castle is the crystallization of Renaissance and Rococo art, the interior decoration is magnificent, the large bear specimens lying on the floor, the golden carriage in the exhibition room, the victory flag and the family logo on the wall are all endless stories.

Český Krumlov has two central points, each occupying a large area within the bend of the river. These places are connected by bridges. First of all, the castle and its parks occupy most of the area, and the Lateran region is concentrated along winding streets.
The second central point, from the upper reaches of the first river, organizes defenses like a peninsula with an isthmus. The circular road follows the fortifications along the edge of the river.
Other places of interest in the Castle District include St. George's Convent and Golden Lane. The Convent houses a collection of art from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods of the 14th and 16th centuries.
On both sides of Golden Lane are small houses, once a gathering place for the warlocks of the king's alchemy, but now they are turned into shops selling handicrafts. Kafka's House is located at 22 this lane.
The locals' favorite festival is the Five-Petal Rose Festival, which is celebrated by people dressed in ornate costumes and holding flags and torches every year on June 20 (the summer solstice). There are also music, theatre and knighthood tournaments on the streets.
Due to low production costs, the Czech Republic is one of the well-known film locations. There are several mainstream Hollywood films such as "XXX" (2002), "Inside Out" (2002), "Blade Runner 2" (2002), "Van Helsing" (2004), "Hellboy" (2004), "Chronicles of Narnia" (2005) and "Brothers Grimm" (2005).
