On April 9, 2021, the Longquanshan Landfill withdrew from the "stage of history". Coinciding with the end of the longquanshan landfill mission, the Longquanshan Wanneng Domestic Waste Incineration Plant started trial operation. Hefei domestic waste has entered the era of "zero landfill and full incineration".
"Here four new mechanical grate incinerators with a daily processing capacity of 750 tons, the daily treatment of domestic waste is about 3,000 tons, according to a family's daily electricity calculation of 3-5 kWh, can meet the daily electricity of 300,000 to 400,000 households." From full landfill in 2012 to today's "full incineration, zero landfill, full utilization", Hefei has embarked on a large project, and the garbage disposal capacity has been comprehensively improved. At present, the city's daily incineration treatment of domestic waste is about 8400 tons, the total annual power generation is about 1.2 billion kWh, the standard coal is saved by about 480,000 tons, and the carbon dioxide emission reduction is about 1.19 million tons, which has achieved good social, economic and environmental benefits, and has made positive contributions to the construction of Hefei's "waste-free city" and the realization of the "double carbon" goal.
From the first step to the "last kilometer", Hefei adheres to green leadership and promotes the classification of domestic waste in depth.
On December 1, 2020, the "Hefei Municipal Regulations on the Classification and Management of Domestic Waste" was officially implemented, and the garbage classification work entered the track of rule of law. At the same time, Hefei uses the combination of rewards and punishment measures such as the red and black list of points, star family evaluation, and advanced family enterprise selection to encourage citizens to actively participate in garbage classification.
In the past ten years, Hefei has built a closed-loop system for the whole process of garbage classification - the front-end high standard to promote the construction of more than 4,000 garbage classification points, the middle end in accordance with the four classification standards to implement classification and transfer, with complete transfer facilities, back-end facilities construction in an all-round way, domestic garbage recycling rate of more than 35%.
Since Hefei was listed as one of the 46 pilot cities for domestic waste classification by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2017, it has continued to carry out garbage classification work in a strong, effective and orderly manner, and interpreted the green development of the city with more standard garbage classification.
