In order to prevent the two from continuing to be together, Wang Lihong's parents decided to send their daughter to Japan to study. Wang Lihong was disheartened, and soon after coming to Japan, who knew that Suma also followed her to Japan. Wang Lihong was completely moved and decided to stay firm with Suma no matter how much her parents objected.

Suma's hometown is one of uganda's oldest villages, and men have a much higher status than women. In public, men can sit in chairs, while women can only sit on their knees on the ground. Almost all the people in this village believe in Islam, and Wang Lihong must also follow the customs and wear a headscarf.
The village also does not allow the daughter-in-law to greet her father-in-law at close range, greeting her from afar every time she meets, and she also kneels on the ground. It is unimaginable in China, but Wang Lihong is not angry, she said: "My mentality is better, the mentality determines that I have a lot of things in here, for example, I have seen a lot of things here, and I will shed tears in the eyes of others, I think it is very novel, very interesting." ”
In Africa, many women often exist for only one purpose, to pass on their husbands, and there is no concept of family planning. Wang Lihong is a talented woman from Tsinghua, and she does not want to live the life of a husband and a godson every day. In 2007, Wang Lihong gave birth to her fourth child, who died of malaria just a year later.
The premature death of her younger son dealt a great blow to Wang Lihong and changed the trajectory of her life. Wang Lihong found that one of the reasons why Uganda was backward was that the level of education here was too low, so she consulted with Suma to start a Chinese school.

As a graduate student at Tsinghua University, Wang Lihong quickly learned the local language, and he was able to communicate with locals in English. After the success of Lu Ziyang Middle School, Wang Lihong invested in the establishment of a Chinese school to teach local children Chinese. Since marrying Suma in 1993 and going to Africa for a wedding in 1996, Wang Lihong's life has indeed been quite happy, and her husband has kept his promise and has not married another wife in 26 years. Despite the strong opposition of her parents, Wang Lihong insisted on coming to Africa, and she finally realized the value of her life. However, Wang Lihong is busy at work, the intensity of the management school work is very intense, and staying up late is even more commonplace, so that she has changed a lot.
At the beginning of 2021, Wang Lihong said that the target for that year was 100 Chinese teachers, teaching in 50 schools across the country. It was also this year that Wang Lihong returned to Beijing, and when she gathered with her old Tsinghua classmates, because she had changed so much that many people did not recognize her at first glance.
Now that Wang Lihong is 54 years old, when someone asked her whether she regretted her decision that year, she smiled and replied: "I never regret it, Africa is very backward, but there my value has been realized, I have a happy family, everything is worth it!" ”
