Becoming a Google Maps engineer is definitely one of the best jobs in the world. You can drive Google's cool cars and have the opportunity to record the world around you so that everyone can see it. It's probably paid well, too. However, having all of Google's logos can make you a target for people from all walks of life. External interaction with Google Street View cars can lead to some interesting situations, or (more often) generate some dangerous and uncomfortable scenes. Don't believe me? Just ask these 13 Googlers...
1. Arrested by the police
2. The wreckage of the capsized Italian cruise ship Costa Concorde
3. Fire on a Google Street View car in Colombia
4. The murder scene as seen from Google Maps
5. These guys are obviously not happy to see Google vans
6. There is an injured bull on the road
7. Is this another murder scene?
People online later claimed that the black spots were caused by a dog that came out of the water.
8. From these photos, it looks like the van really hit the poor donkey
9. On the way to the station
10. Aerial view of a cannabis farm in Switzerland
11. Google Maps found the entire drug trade in Chicago
12. Be prepared for the mess
13. How rude is this
I didn't know there were so many crime scenes on Google Maps. I hope Google will clear this from the database as soon as possible. One thing is for sure: I'm not going to these places anytime soon.
