On August 28, the reporter saw nearly 10,000 seagulls and anti-billed sandpipers foraging on the beach in the bird wave square on the west coast of Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. At high tide, they dance to form "bird waves", which is very spectacular. This is the "vanguard" of migratory birds, and a large number of migratory birds are expected to arrive at Yingkou in early September.
Yingkou is one of the 8 migratory routes for international migratory birds, with nearly 80 species of birds migrating from April to May and from September to October every year. During the migration season, 40,000 to 50,000 migratory birds feed here every day, forming a spectacular "bird wave" landscape. Among the many migratory waterbirds, the main species are the black-tailed sandpiper, the sandpiper, the anti-billed sandpiper, the warp-billed sandpiper, the great shore sandpiper, the black-bellied sandpiper, the red-bellied sandpiper, the curved-billed sandpiper, the gray-spotted sandpiper, the ring-necked sandpiper and other partridges. In order to protect migratory birds, the Yingkou Forestry and Grassland Bureau and other departments carry out regular patrols in bird activity areas.
