At the same time, Dinerbone came with the first picture in Minecraft history of "water is no longer a square", showing trees, leaves, flowers, and seaweed all well integrated into the water. Most importantly, officials pointed out that the water in the picture is not a block.
Since then, Minecraft has opened up a possible future renewal of the concept of separating fluids out of blocks.

Stage 1: Water containing blocks
In order to achieve the idea of turning "water" into a natural fluid, Mojang apparently realized that this would be a difficult process. So cleverly they came up with a compromise: water-bearing blocks. This means not to change the characteristics of the water, but to change the characteristics of the blocks outside the water.
This feature was soon added to that year's Minecraft 1.13 Ocean Update, and the concept of water-bearing blocks was added to the game. With an "illusion" visual effect, the fluid thing is possible.
In my opinion, if Mojang really intends to turn the "water cube" into a fluid, the water containment block may be a compromise in the current version.

Perfecting water physics is an important stage in Minecraft's transformation of water blocks into real fluids. And that's one of the things Mojang has been doing all these years.

So Minecraft now has basic "water physics" properties, but these water physics are based on the water physics of the block attributes.
