Speaking of corals, most people are familiar with thousands of species of corals on the earth where we live, and their total area even exceeds 1% of the surface area. They are very ancient, highly invasive, and form a unique ecological environment, providing a living environment for all kinds of deep or shallow sea creatures.
For LEGO lovers, Lego restoring everything is their goal. Naturally, for this huge biological system in the ocean, there are also people who want to use building blocks to achieve it.
The LEGO Idea we're going to introduce today is a 1:1 coral reef from designer RedPaws0206, and see how he realized his own coral idea through blocks.
However, to be honest, when the author sees the work map, the first feeling is dazzling, the author provides less pictures, even if the whole scene has no primary and secondary colors, and even can not clarify the content that the author wants to highlight.
From the only overall view, the entire scene is built on a square board 32×32 stud width, and the base is a coral reef platform composed of beige and earth yellow, on which grows a variety of strange, colorful corals and marine life.
Coral shapes are mostly tentacle-like and columnar, with bright green and light colors of purple, yellow and pink.
The shape of various corals is mostly linear in one direction, and the curved growth of coral models is achieved through some gears and joint structures. From the appearance, it is mostly a single model that is repeatedly arranged, so it will be slightly monotonous in the accessories. In order to reflect some of the details on the coral, the author uses a large number of horn pieces to achieve a sharp horn effect.
The most striking feature in the scene is the white squid that shuttles through the middle of the coral plant. The degree of reduction should still be quite high, after all, the author has only seen its baked state. The squid tentacles use a larger number of cylindrical series of 1×1, and it is not known that this curvature structure is stable and unstable.
According to the author, the original cave was designed as a nest of pippi shrimp, and as the design progressed, it slowly became a coral reef for viewing, and pippi shrimp became a decoration.
Although I understand that the author provided a biological close-up shot in order to express the idea more clearly, but this shape, this color, the flowers and greens and the background are fused together, if this is a little dense, I guess I can't tell which is a shrimp and which is a coral.
In addition, the author also mentioned that there are other creatures such as parrotfish placed in it, and if it is the following picture, we can still see something. The shape of the fish is small, and the appearance is also in place.
But in this picture, the colorful coral is mixed with colorful color blocks. Can you imagine that this is a fish? Although I also know that the marine fish are colorful, this thing always looks like it is a color card in the hospital for a physical examination.
Of course, I think that if you take away the marine life in the design, or take them out separately to design and design, it may be a good choice. After all, from the detail map, these clusters of coral shape is still quite chic, a variety of design methods to construct different coral strains are worthy of reference by friends who like design. Although it seems that the fight may be wasted, after all, the volume of more than 2990 pieces almost reaches the upper limit of the design requirements, but it is more than 1×1 small particles, the assembly experience will certainly not be good.
Although the author's design is very hard, but the design has only received 2,000 votes in the two months since it landed on the Idea website, and there are only more than 100 days left before the deadline, whether it can get enough support in the remaining time is really a test. Perhaps it's the bizarre design and the colorful color scheme that affects the player's look and feel. Personally, I think the theme of coral reefs and marine life is still good, but maybe there is a better way to restore it.
I'm HB Jun, more exciting, stay tuned for Lego Warehouse bad snow and Jim's World.
