Lipps lives with her husband and son in a village on the outskirts of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Due to her skilled horticultural skills, she enjoys a high reputation in the Vietnamese mother community abroad.
She has a beautiful garden in front of the house and a vegetable and fruit garden at the back of the house.
Ms. Lipps shared that 5 years ago, when she was caring for her family at home, she felt extremely "itchy limbs". So, during the long winter, she worked hard to clean the stones and renovate the 100-square-meter back garden.
She buys a variety of plants to grow in Vietnam and the Netherlands.
The garden in front of her house is full of hydrangeas, evening primroses, rose tea, chrysanthemums, orchids...
In particular, roses and tulips are the two most popular flowers.
Vibrant climbing rose bushes grow on the gates, and fences decorate the entire space.
Every year, she collects tulip seeds in the fields around the village. She carefully dug up the remaining bulbs from the previous season and brought them back to plant.
Ms. Lipps is limited to cut flower cultivation. She believes that flowers are most beautiful when they are on trees.
Occasionally, she would dry a few bouquets of flowers as a decoration.
Her garden is the perfect place to gather with friends and family on weekends.
Ms Lipps revealed that gardening helps little Vietnamese become active, confident and nature-loving.
Thanks to this garden, there is also more contact between her family.
