In the early days of mankind, the nomadic way of life was far more than agriculture, and in some ancient civilizations, ancient people migrated in a nomadic way, looking for better pastures.
Northern Shaanxi and Hetao are a set of nomadic peoples of the Di people, and because of their good climate and land conditions, they gradually learned to establish cities and agriculture. But the agricultural tribes in the Central Plains developed, their weapons more and more developed, the population also increased, and attacked the Di people again and again.
The Di people found a great lake in the north, which is now Lake Baikal. After the Xiongnu unified the steppes, the two sides fought frequently, and Su Wu was sent to Lake Baikal to graze with the Di people.

Ding Zhi also established a brief reign in Murong Shi's Later Yan. The Dingzhi merged with the Han chinese and other Hu people and eventually disappeared from the Central Plains.
