Located next to Gan International Airport, Equator Village Maldives is a good value for money Maldives holiday destination. Although it is not as good as the tall uninhabited island hotels, it also has its own quiet beach and pool. With lush trees and coconut trees, guests can rent a bicycle for a ride, explore the living areas of the locals, or take part in the activities organised by the resort.
In addition, the buffet in the resort is very cheap, even if you eat every meal is not a problem, do not have to hide in the room to eat instant noodles like many tourists who live in uninhabited island high-end resorts. [Sneak laugh]
During World War II, Gan Wasu was once a British Royal Navy and Air Force base, and equator resorts were converted from air bases.

The room was also the rattan furniture that I liked. There is a mosque outside the resort, and the melodious chanting of worship is heard every day. I've heard it in the UAE and Egypt, it's infectious, I didn't expect to wake up here every morning to the sound of chanting, that kind of beautiful melody is a bit like the temple's early morning bells, euphemistic, which is also not experienced in other places in The Maddais.
This is a restaurant, all three meals are Western buffets, although the dishes are not very many, but it is completely fine to eat, and there are a lot of fruits. Breakfast is free, lunch and dinner is only $19 per person, unlike those tall resorts, a buffet can not move for one or two hundred dollars, no wonder forced everyone to bring instant noodles to eat.

The most amazing thing is that there is a flock of chickens in the resort, large and small, and they are free to forage on the beach. This flock of chickens is a bit like pets, not afraid of people, often hanging out under the seats of guests, so cute! [Sneak laugh]
There are many recliners by the coconut tree, my girlfriend and I picked a relatively sun-less corner, every afternoon after sleeping until three or four o'clock, we each make a pot of tea, bring a large bag of snacks here to eat and drink, lie down and listen to the music and blow the sea breeze, until the sun sets before leaving, it is too comfortable.
Sometimes snacks accidentally fall to the ground, and soon ants come and carry them away. Since moving out of Gulangyu Island, I have never had the opportunity to carefully observe the ants moving, and I did not expect to see the familiar scene of my childhood in Gan Island. I personally like "Equator Resort", although the environment is not as beautiful as the water house, the facilities are simple, but it is simple and natural, cost-effective, no wonder many foreigners like to come here for a holiday. Equatorial Resort may not be the best choice for honeymooners as there is no romantic atmosphere to look forward to, but it is a good option for those who just want to find a quiet place to chill out or relax.
