In order to live, the four Qiu Shaoyun brothers had to go out to work, he did a lot of physical work, but also suffered from the white eyes of the world.
What is even less known is that Qiu Shaoyun was once arrested by the Kuomintang army as a zhuangding, that is to say, the great hero Qiu Shaoyun served as a zhuangding of the kuomintang army, and when the people's liberation army liberated the great southwest, Qiu Shaoyun gloriously joined the People's Liberation Army as a liberation fighter. In the ranks of the People's Liberation Army, Qiu Shaoyun felt warm for the first time, especially guo Anmin, a cultural instructor. Most of the characters he knew were taught to him by Guo Anmin, and the two became good friends in the team, and Qiu Shaoyun's enthusiasm for recognizing words and learning culture made Guo Anmin very moved. According to the recollection of veteran Guo Anmin, Qiu Shaoyun soon became a combat pacesetter in the company, and once participated in the local bandit suppression work with the company, And Qiu Shaoyun and his comrades-in-arms captured the bandits alive and killed several bandits.

After the outbreak of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Qiu Shaoyun followed the second batch of his unit, the 15th Army, into the DPRK, and before entering the DPRK, Qiu Shaoyun sent a family letter home and took a photo (it was also the only photo left by Qiu Shaoyun before his death). In the letter, Qiu Shaoyun told his family that he was still alive, and now he was participating in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea to defend his family and defend the country, so that his brother and two younger brothers could cultivate the land at home (Qiu Shaoyun was the second oldest in the family), and after a few years, he would come back to build his hometown with everyone. Unexpectedly, this precious family letter became one of The few relics of Qiu Shaoyun, and it is still preserved in the Qiu Shaoyun Memorial Hall.
In the Korean battlefield, Qiu Shaoyun performed well, once saving a little Girl from North Korea on the march. At that time, Qiu Shaoyun followed the troops on a rapid march, and when he passed a house that had just been bombed by the enemy, he faintly heard the cry of a child, he and his comrades-in-arms searched twice in the ruins of the house but never found the child's figure, when the troops were ready to pull out, Qiu Shaoyun was still uneasy about following the child's cries to look for it, and finally found a little girl in the corner of the kitchen, Qiu Shaoyun took the little girl out of the ruins, and in a flash, the enemy's shells exploded in the ruins.
Qiu Shaoyun was also sent to the rear by the company because of his excellent military qualities to learn various basic military skills, and in the training class, Qiu Shaoyun and his fellow Sichuan compatriot Chen Daquan met and left his only photo to Chen Daquan as a souvenir.
After returning to the troops, the troops moved to Shangganling, but the enemy established positions at Height 391. How important is Highland 391? Highland 391 is the core of the delta of military powerhouses, and Highland 391 is on the flank of Shangganling. If the 15th Army wants to successfully launch the Shangganling Campaign, it must take the 391 Heights to relieve the worries of the rear, in addition, the 391 Highlands are also the combined part of the 38th Army and the 15th Army of the Volunteer Army, so the geographical location of the 391 Highlands is very prominent.
Before the battle, Qiu Shaoyun actively asked the company commander for battle and wrote an application to join the party.
In his application to join the party, Qiu Shaoyun wrote: I would rather sacrifice myself than expose my goals! For the sake of the whole, for the sake of victory, for the cause of liberation of the Chinese and Korean people and all mankind, I am willing to give up everything I have.
In the battle for the 391 heights, in order to play an unexpected effect, Qiu Shaoyun and 500 comrades-in-arms made camouflage and lurked in the 391 highlands in advance. He and seven other fighters lurked in the grass 60 meters in front of the enemy position, and they could clearly hear the enemy's speech.
In the lurking command post ordered the artillery to strike at the enemy. After the enemy was hit, he dispatched aircraft to reconnoiter and blindly fired reconnaissance incendiary bombs, and an incendiary bomb landed right next to Qiu Shaoyun, and the flying spark splashed on his left leg, burning his cotton coat, hair, and flesh. Beside him was a ditch, and by rolling into the ditch, he could put out the fire. But in order not to expose the lurking troops, he strictly disciplined, gritted his teeth, put his hands deep into the dirt, endured severe pain with amazing perseverance, and did not say a word, motionless, until he died heroically, at the age of 26. After the war, the comrades-in-arms turned their anger into a powerful offensive, and the volunteers successfully captured The 391 Heights in only 20 minutes.
Afterwards, for Qiu Shaoyun's meritorious service, the Headquarters of the Volunteer Army posthumously recognized him as a member of the Communist Party and posthumously recognized him as a first-class combat hero.
So how did his family live after Qiu Shaoyun's sacrifice?
His brother and two younger brothers did not ask the state and the army for anything because of Qiu Shaoyun's relationship, but chose to work as a farmer in his hometown, Qiu Shaoyun's eldest brother and third brother both died young, leaving only the fourth brother Qiu Shaohua, Qiu Shaohua, although Qiu Shaohua did not have too much memory of the second brother Qiu Shaoyun, he always inherited the spirit of the second brother Qiu Shaoyun, and for many years as the village party secretary, he has been leading the villagers to work hard and get rich, and serve the villagers wholeheartedly.
Although the 85-year-old Qiu Shaohua is frail and sickly, he still led everyone to the "Qiu Shaoyun Memorial Hall" on the day of the Qingming Festival in 2015, and revisited the text of "My Comrade-in-Arms Qiu Shaoyun" with everyone in front of the statue of Qiu Shaoyun.
