British composer Monty Norman, who wrote the theme music for the iconic James Bond film series, passed away today (July 11 local time) at the age of 94, the news was released by his official website.

According to Agence France-Presse, the official website statement said: "We regret to announce that Montinoman died on 11 July 2022 shortly after falling ill"

Monty Norman was born on 4 April 1928 in Stephanie, East London, to a Jewish family, whose real name was Monty. Monty Noserovitch. Singing in big bands in the 1950s and 1960s, when Monty Norman was 16, his mother bought him a guitar for $15.

He later appeared on variety tv shows. His other works include So Who Needs Marriage and Pinocchio (1988). Monty Norman later won the Evening Standard, Olivier and Ivo Novello Awards for Best Music in 1979 and 1981 for Songbook.
