The long weekend of Canada Day means that many people will be out and about. Niagara Falls' annual parade, fireworks display and new tunnel attraction attract an unusually large number of people.
Videos posted by multiple Instagram accounts showed large numbers of visitors crowding the streets, squeezing from one sidewalk to another.
People also flock to the edge of the waterfall, where they are illuminated by celebratory red and white lights.
While parades and fireworks displays are the main part of Niagara's long weekend celebrations, the public opening of a 100-year-old, 2,200-foot-long tunnel on the Banks of the Niagara River has also attracted a large number of visitors.
The tunnel, which is part of the Niagara Park Power Station, leads to the observation deck with stunning views of horseshoe falls.
Due to public health restrictions, the sight of so many people gathering has never been seen in the past two years.
