In the late 1930s, he devoted himself to the collection and collation of Decorative Patterns of Chinese Dynasties and Guizhou Ethnic Minority Patterns, and later engaged in the design, teaching and theoretical research of arts and crafts for a long time. He has successively taught at Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, National Art College, Central Academy of Arts and Crafts, and successively served as professor and provost of the East China Branch of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, vice president of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts, and executive director of the China Artists Association.
Pang Xuanxuan is also good at oil painting and watercolor, and his early works were influenced by various genres of Western modern art, and he explored in many ways, and later benefited from traditional Chinese art and folk art.
