The 1st Annual Crawford Festival (Figure 1) hosted by the Royal Philatelic Society LONOND (RPSL) opened today at the Society's London headquarters. The festival is named after the Earl of Crawford, the president of the Society, and at this festival will be the winner of this year's Crawford Medal, which is awarded to the author of this year's best philological work (book), which comes from all over the world, not only books published by the Royal Philatelic Society, but also philatelic works published by other organizations and publishing units, this year a total of eight works are shortlisted, and tomorrow the final winner will be born.

This year's Crawford Festival is presided over by Mr. Chris King RDP, President of the Society and Chairman of the Collection Committee, Peter Cockburn FRPSL first delivered a welcome speech (Figure 2), then Mr. King (Picture 3) briefly introduced the relevant event arrangements, and also mentioned the origin of this Crawford Festival, which was originally proposed by the Society's president, Frank Walton RDP, unfortunately, President Walton did not see the opening of the festival because he left us on April 1 due to illness, and hoped that the elder president would see his achievements in the Spirit of Heaven.

Veteran President David Beech MBE first made a keynote speech (Figure 4), followed by Ms. Nicola Davies, Head of Collections of the Society (Picture 5), Fellow Richard Morel, Curator of the Philatelic Department of the British Library and Consultant to the Philatelic Museum (Fig. 6), Ms Corinne Galloway, Senior Curator of the Postal Museum (UK), and Mr Stuart Aitken (Fig. 7), curator, and Charles Professor Oppenheim (Figure 8) gave lectures on different topics, and Jonas Hallstrom RDP, Chairman of the Society's Publication Committee, introduced several of the works that the Society had just published (Figure 0). Everyone said that they learned a lot today and benefited a lot!

This year's Crawford Festival will be held for two days, and tomorrow there will be veteran presidentSaints Brian Trotter RDP, Chris Harman RDP, and curator Lynn Heidelbaugh from the National Postal Museum to continue to give lectures, and to give birth to this year's Crawford Medal (Figure 10) winners, who can win? Let's wait and see!
