At today's Nintendo Face-to-Face Conference, Bandai's Fishing Spirits announced a sequel, Fishing Spirits: Fish & Play Aquarium, which is scheduled to be released this year.
The trailer continues the raucous style of the series, and the game looks like a collection of various mini-games, full of fun and funny elements.
The combo setting after the fishing is in some cases a bit like the fishing version of Monster Hunter.
Originally a Japanese arcade game, Fishing Spirits was ported to Switch in 2019 and quickly became the second best-selling game at the time, with a physical version of the 125,000-copy debut sold out at one point.
Not serious fishing or sea fishing, the game often appears a variety of strange fish, such as pulling up an adult great white shark, or fighting with the big squid, the seemingly cartoon graphic is full of various passionate elements.
Fishing Spirits: Fish & Play Aquarium is only released in Japan for the time being.
