Clarkswick
Between the dramatic slopes of the Northern Islands, you'll discover the town of Clarkswick. While the town itself doesn't boast many attractions, like most places in Faroe, this is an incredible sight you want to visit here. Klaksvik is an ideal base and place to stay for exploring the northern region of the Faroe Islands, where guests can enjoy many hikes and climbing peaks. Be sure to check out the town's Fríða Kaffihús, one of the best places where you can sample the local Faroe Islands cuisine.
Lake Sovagswatten
Above the ocean in the lake, Sorvagsvatn seems to inhabit the ocean because of the dramatic cliffs beneath it. Actually, it's actually not that tall, but it's just as impressive. It is actually the largest lake in the Faroe Islands, located next to the airport, and although the picture above may look like an aerial photo, it comes from one of the cliffs jutting out from the coast and is easily accessible.
Saxon
Saksun is a beautiful little village nestled in remote mountain ranges, famous for its picturesque grass-roofed houses perched on steep hills. This small village and its surroundings look like fairy tales, dotted with stunning waterfalls, dramatic peaks, and beautiful fjords. There are many picturesque sights here, but be sure to check out the quaint Saksun Church, built in the 19th century.
Dranganiel
It's no more incredible than Drangarnir, with Tindhólmur's dramatic peaks rising from the sea in the background. Drangarnir refers to the arched rocks near the coast of Vagar Island and is one of the most famous landscapes on the island. Trekking to the iconic cliff edge isn't the easiest, but those who succeed will be rewarded handsomely.
Múlafossur
In the background, the sight of murat waterfalls and the small village of Gasadalur evokes a strong sense of travel fetish. Even better, it's only a short 15 minute drive to the airport, a perfect introduction to the beautiful Faroe Islands. From this perspective, you'll also enjoy picturesque panoramic views of the stunning coastline and nearby Mykines Island, famous for its puffin colonies.
