In the eyes of many people, this is glory betraying Huawei. But I don't think so, why isn't Glory spreading the risk to counter U.S. sanctions against Huawei?
Especially when Hongmeng is not really mature enough to fight Android.
Why?
We all know that the system on the mobile phone on the market is basically the world of Google Android. Because the Android system has a higher degree of freedom and open source features, it is loved by developers and users around the world. For example, our honor, millet, VIVO, OPPO, etc., are all developed and run on the basis of the Android open source system.
But no matter how easy the system is, the core technology is not its own, and it is time to catch the blind when there is a problem. This is also why Huawei began to launch the Hongmeng system after being sanctioned.
Many people say that Hongmeng is the Android system with a skin. This understanding is a bit superficial.
Very professional technical architecture analysis is not much to say, you just need to know that although these two systems are based on the Linux kernel design, but the Android system is a macro kernel design, the development difficulty is low but easy to crash. Hongmeng is a microkernel design, which is very difficult to develop, but the stability of the system is very high.
Hongmeng's self-developed EROFS super file system and applications developed based on the Ark compiler are not only compatible with all Android system applications, but also run 60% faster than Android systems.
And Huawei's Hongmeng takes a different route than Android. Hongmeng's ultimate goal is the "Internet of Everything". In addition to mobile phones, smart wearable devices, etc., basically all smart devices that can access the Internet of Things are applicable, such as smart homes, autonomous driving, and even industrial applications. Therefore, Hongmeng's future development prospects are better.
However, Hongmeng has a constraint problem, that is, the software ecosystem, that is, the lack of enough developers to continue to develop various applications for this operating system, so that the practical value of Hongmeng can really be raised, and a virtuous circle between system developers, hardware manufacturers, developers and users can be realized.
However, it is not completely without progress, at present, Midea, Boss Electrical Appliances, Puffin Technology and other enterprises have been equipped with Hongmeng, and more than 120 well-known companies such as BMW, UnionPay, JD.com, iFLYTEK and so on have also begun to innovate based on the Hongmeng system.
But it's not enough.
The impact of U.S. sanctions on Huawei has not completely disappeared now, and when Glory separated from Huawei, it was not necessary to put eggs in different baskets. Honor now uses the Hongmeng system, which may be considered to be on the side of Huawei, and it is likely that it will only lead to new sanctions. But if Honor also grows to a stable enough market position, it will in turn become a big boost for Huawei.
In the final analysis, huawei and its Hongmeng system technology is excellent, and it really makes users feel good to use. After all, it is difficult to go far by feelings alone.
