A few days ago, Japan's glorious Tekumo announced the new Three Kingdoms-themed dark action game "Wolong: Falling Heavens" by Team NINJA, a series of "Renwang" series studios. The game was developed by Fumihiko Yasuda, director and producer of the Renwang series, and two star producers, Masaaki Yamaji, who was a co-producer of Bloodborne.
Yasuda Fumihiko said that the Chinese character "Wolong" is Zhuge Liang's title, but the "Wolong" here refers to the meaning of the hidden dragon, corresponding to the current obscure protagonist, as well as the heroes of the Three Kingdoms who will be left in history.
Masaaki Yamaji complemented the game's subtitle. Because the game is set in the chaotic era of the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Team NINJA chose "Fallen Dynasty" as the subtitle of the game. It is worth mentioning that the game also contains a large number of traditional Chinese monsters and sacred beasts based on the Classic of Mountains and Seas.
Fumihiko Yasuda also talked about the connection between this game and "Renwang": "After the completion of the "Renwang" two-part process, we heard the voice of Chinese players who wanted the Three Kingdoms Renwang, so we planned to develop a Three Kingdoms theme work online in the extended series. But elements such as the action system, yokai, Japanese stage, and samurai protagonists of the Renwang series are very unique, and if you want to adapt these contents to the Three Kingdoms, you should start from scratch and start over, so we finally decided to create an IP. ”
