However, Turkey, which is also a nato member, has spoken out against the United States, expressing firm opposition to the matter, and the lion has opened its mouth and proposed to the United States to lift the sanctions imposed on the purchase of Russian S-400s.
Turkey's opposition to Sweden and Finland joining Russia, in addition to wanting to take the opportunity to lift U.S. sanctions against Turkey, is that the "terrorist organization" PKK, which Turkey has been encircling and suppressing, is suspected of being sheltered and supported by Both Countries, and Turkey is very dissatisfied with this. Previously, Erdogan had criticized Sweden and Finland for not having a clear and open attitude towards terrorist organizations, and even shelled Sweden as a "hatchery" for terrorist organizations, believing that there were "terrorists" in the Swedish Parliament. Erdogan pointed out that if Sweden and Finland join NATO, NATO will become a "representative distribution center for terrorist organizations." It is undeniable that Erdogan is referring to the PKK. Turkey has previously criticized Sweden and others for refusing to repatriate 33 members of the PKK, even providing weapons to the group and restricting the export of Turkish defense equipment.
For Turkey's opposition, Sweden and Finland tried to negotiate to make Turkey accept its demand to join NATO, but the result was not ideal, Erdogan was not satisfied with the results of the consultations, accused Finland and Sweden of being insincere, and bluntly said, "Turkey will not say 'agree' to Finland and Sweden's application for 'accession'". After the negotiations were fruitless, Erdogan no longer sought a negotiated solution, but instead launched a large military operation.
Recently, Erdogan issued a warning that Turkey will launch a military operation in Syria and northern Iraq, which will completely eliminate terrorist organizations in the region, and this operation does not require the approval of any country and organization, including the United States. It is clear that the target of Turkey's military operation is the Kurdish forces. It is worth mentioning that the Kurdish armed forces are also the "allies" of the United States in attacking IS organizations, which shows that Turkey's move is to take the "little brother" of the United States.
