About the Speaker:
Hou Shuguo, Ph.D., is an associate professor of Shandong Jianzhu University and the leader of the outstanding youth innovation team of Shandong Universities. He is mainly engaged in the study of plant immune molecular mechanisms regulated by peptide signaling and receptor kinase. From 2006 to 2007, he studied in the Zhou Jianmin Laboratory of the Beijing Institute of Life Sciences (NIBS), from 2012 to 2015, he studied for a Doctorate in the School of Life Sciences of Shandong University, and from 2017 to 2019, he was a visiting scholar and postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory of Professor He Ping of Texas A&M University. For the first time, plant secretory peptides are identified as signaling molecules to regulate plant innate immunity, and a variety of secretory peptides and receptors that regulate plant immunity are identified, and the plant immune regulation mechanism is elaborated in depth. The research results have been published in more than 20 internationally renowned journals such as Nature, Nature Communications, Plant Cell, Plos Pathogens, Trends in Plant Science and other internationally renowned journals. As a reviewer, he has reviewed more than 20 times for internationally renowned journals such as Plant Cell & Environment and Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions.
