Plunged 34.4%! Smartphones are gloomy
On May 25, the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology released the April 2022 domestic mobile phone market operation analysis report, and the situation was dismal.
According to the report, in April 2022, the domestic market mobile phone shipments were 18.079 million units, down 34.2% year-on-year.
Among them, the shipment of smart phones was 17.690 million units, down 34.4% year-on-year, accounting for 97.8%.
5G mobile phone shipments were 14.585 million units, down 31.9% year-on-year, accounting for 80.7%.
From January to April 2022, the overall shipment of mobile phones in the domestic market totaled 87.425 million units, down 30.3% year-on-year.
Among them, the shipment of smart phones was 85.774 million units, down 30.4% year-on-year, accounting for 98.1%.
5G mobile phone shipments were 68.469 million units, down 25.0% year-on-year, accounting for 78.3%.
In April 2022, 40 new models of domestic mobile phones were listed, an increase of 25.0% year-on-year.
Among them, 36 smart phones, an increase of 38.5% year-on-year, accounting for 90.0%; 21 5G mobile phones, an increase of 31.3% year-on-year, accounting for 52.5%.
From January to April 2022, a total of 143 new models were listed, down 7.1% year-on-year.
Among them, 121 models of smart phones, down 2.4% year-on-year, accounting for 84.6% of the number of new models listed in the same period; 78 models of 5G mobile phones, down 2.5% year-on-year, accounting for 54.5%.
In April 2022, domestic brand mobile phone shipments were 16.427 million units, down 33.6% year-on-year, accounting for 90.9%; 39 new models were listed, an increase of 50.0% year-on-year, accounting for 97.5%.
From January to April 2022, the shipment volume of domestic brand mobile phones totaled 74.077 million units, down 33.5% year-on-year, accounting for 84.7%; the total number of new models listed was 137, down 2.8% year-on-year, accounting for 95.8%.
