Chairman Mao was the founder of New China and, still more, the leader of New China. Long before the founding of New China, chairman Mao's life safety was paramount, and many turmoil elements wanted to gain control of New China by defeating Chairman Mao, but none of these ill-intentioned people succeeded.

Chairman Mao's safety was due to the six outstanding guards around him. So, who are these six guards? After the founding of New China, where did they become officials?

Sixth place: Chen Long

In 1910, Chen Long was born in Fushun, Liaoning Province, and from an early age he aspired to serve the country and devote himself to Rong. After graduating from middle school, Chen Long resolutely decided to join the Northeast Army. During his joining the army, Chen Long was regarded as a key training object by the army with his excellent performance, sent to the Jilin Army Officer School to study, and after graduation, he served as a platoon leader in the Northeast Army. In the subsequent battles, Chen Long made many battle achievements, and his reputation also grew.

On the eve of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Chen Long was ordered to come to Yan'an, and it was precisely because of this transfer that he became a guard at Chairman Mao's side.

After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the people of the whole country longed for peaceful nation-building, but Chiang Kai-shek did not allow the existence of our Party and our army. After that, in order to buy time for the civil war, Chiang Kai-shek decided to set up a "Hongmen banquet" for Chairman Mao in Chongqing. In order to expose Chiang Kai-shek's conspiracy, Chairman Mao, after careful consideration, decided to go to Chongqing in person.

Before the departure of this trip, Chairman Mao prepared for the worst, and our Party immediately made detailed arrangements for the safety of Chairman Mao and other leaders.

At that time, Kang Sheng and Li Kenong, who were in charge of security work, brought several people who were highly skilled in martial arts and were absolutely loyal to the party and the mainland to the chairman, but the chairman was not very satisfied after seeing it. Immediately afterward, the chairman personally named Chen Long as the guard of his trip.

After being selected as a guard, Chen Long felt a great responsibility for himself, and in order to ensure that he would not make mistakes, he would get up early in the field every day to practice his marksmanship. In addition, Chen Long also conducted an in-depth investigation of the local situation in Chongqing, and he also knew the Kuomintang participants very well, and truly achieved "knowing oneself and knowing the other".

On August 28, 1945, Chairman Mao and his party left Yan'an by plane, and at three o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, the plane slowly landed at Chongqing Airport.

After arriving in Chongqing, Chen Long will conduct a meticulous inspection of Chairman Mao's residence, and only after everything is normal will he be relieved to let the chairman stay. Throughout the meeting, Chen Long always followed the chairman around, carefully observing the situation of all the people and things around him, in order to prevent unexpected situations and protect the life safety of the chairman at the first time.

On October 10, 1945, after more than 40 days of negotiations, the two parties finally reached a peace agreement. On the morning of October 11, Chairman Mao boarded a plane back to Yan'an.

After arriving at the base area, Chairman Mao commended Chen Long's performance and personally wrote down the four big characters of "Loyalty and Gengeng" to give him, and also gave Chen Long a watch that had accompanied him for many years. However, Chen Long later refused the chairman's request to remain in office due to health reasons, and eventually he returned to his hometown of Northeast China.

The reason why the chairman was able to retreat safely from Chongqing can be said to be indispensable, and Chen Long has always been highly vigilant for 43 days and nights, accompanied the chairman step by step, and assumed responsibility for the party and the country. In this regard, Chen Long is also known as "modern Zhao Zilong"!

Wu Jicheng

Fifth place: Wu Jicheng

Wu Jicheng was born in 1927 in a small village in Shenchi County, Shanxi Province. At the age of 6, both of his parents died and he has lived a wandering life ever since. At the age of 11, Wu Jicheng became a small eighth road under the recommendation of a Red Army soldier, and thus began his military career.

In 1945, in order to ensure the smooth convening of the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee selected a group of soldiers from the Jinsui Military Region with strong military skills and reliable political ideology to serve as guards, and Wu Jicheng became one of them. Later, the "Seventh National Congress" ended smoothly, and Wu Jicheng also became a soldier in the Central Guard Regiment, responsible for the protection work led by the Central Committee.

When Hu Zongnan attacked Yan'an, the Central Guard Regiment vowed to die with Yan'an, but in the end, under the persuasion of Chairman Mao, the Yan'an troops decided to shift their positions first.

On the day of the evacuation of Yan'an, Chairman Mao, Premier Zhou, and Elder Peng were always the last to go, and Wu Jicheng at this time was one of the guards defending Chairman Mao. After evacuating Yan'an, Wu Jicheng was officially transferred to Chairman Mao's guard squad and became Chairman Mao's guard from then on, and from then until 1949, Wu Jicheng stayed with Chairman Mao.

In 1976, Wu Jicheng led people on a security mission in HuaiRenTang and once again made great contributions. In 1979, Wu Jicheng was transferred to the Anhui Provincial Military Region as deputy commander, and officially retired in 1982.

From a small eighth road to a guard responsible for defending the central leadership, Wu Jicheng has always worked hard in his post, and his revolutionary deeds deserve to be recorded in the annals of history forever!

Yang Dezhong

Fourth place: Yang Dezhong

Since the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Yang Dezhong has devoted himself to the revolutionary cause without hesitation. He first entered the Anti-Japanese University to study, and then at the age of 15 he joined our party. At this point, Yang Dezhong followed the large army to the north and south of the great river.

After the founding of New China, the Party Central Committee set up a guard regiment to protect the safety of state leaders, and Yang Dezhong was appointed as the political commissar of the guard regiment, which was enough to see Chairman Mao's trust and affirmation of it.

After 1964, Yang Dezhong's main task was to protect the safety of Premier Zhou, which was ten years. During this period, Yang Dezhong accompanied Premier Zhou on his visits to foreign countries and under his inspections, and the defense work can be said to have been done very thoroughly.

In 1994, Yang Dezhong was awarded the rank of general, but not long after he was awarded the rank, the 71-year-old voluntarily asked for retirement. Although Yang Dezhong can enjoy his old age with peace of mind after retirement, he is still contributing to the national security work, guiding the relevant security work and cultivating the leadership team, until 1998, when he officially bid farewell to the cause he loved.

Li Yinqiao

Third place: Li Yinqiao

In 1938, 11-year-old Li Yinqiao bid farewell to his parents and joined the Eighth Road, but because he was too young at the time, the army leaders did not arrange for him to go to the front, but let him work in the logistics department.

The young Li Yinqiao was clever and learned a martial art, and the leader of the unit quickly transferred him from the logistics department to the communications squad. In the early days of the Liberation War, Li Yinqiao began to engage in intelligence work, during which no matter what tasks were entrusted to him by his superiors, Li Yinqiao would conscientiously complete them, and his superiors were very satisfied with him.

In 1947, Li Yinqiao received an order from his superiors to go to Chairman Mao's side to serve as a defender. However, when he first met Chairman Mao, Li Yinqiao told the chairman his true thoughts, he was not willing to be just a guard, and going to the front line to kill the enemy was his lifelong ambition.

Chairman Mao laughed when he heard Li Yinqiao's thoughts, and then said to Li Yinqiao: "I will borrow you for half a year, and after half a year you can do the work you want to do." In this way, Li Yinqiao and Chairman Mao formed a deep friendship here, and Li Yinqiao stayed with the chairman for 15 years, during which time the two got along very happily, with deep feelings and affection for father and son.

In 1964, Li Yinqiao was to be transferred away from the chairman to serve elsewhere, and before leaving, he came to bid farewell to the chairman. In the face of the subordinates who have accompanied him for more than ten years, the chairman choked up and said goodbye to him, and his heart was full of reluctance.

In 1979, Li Yinqiao was transferred back to Beijing to serve as deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Administration Bureau of the Great Hall of the People, and in 1982 he was transferred to the Ministry of Public Security. On September 2, 2009, the guard who had accompanied the chairman for more than ten years passed away at the age of 82.

Wang Dongxing

Second place: Wang Dongxing

Wang Dongxing was a soldier in the Red Tenth Army, and participated in the Long March, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and the War of Liberation. In early 1947, Wang Dongxing was transferred to the chairman's side as a guard, just as Hu Zongnan was launching a major attack on Yan'an, and the Kuomintang troops were less than ten kilometers away from the nearest place to the central government.

In the face of such a dangerous situation, Chairman Mao insisted on seeing the enemy withdraw again, and Wang Dongxing stayed behind to protect the safety of the chairman. At this point, Wang Dongxing has gained the trust of the chairman, and this trust is a lifetime.

After the founding of New China, Wang Dongxing served as deputy director of the Office of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and thereafter concurrently served as deputy director of the Secretariat Office of the Government Affairs Office, vice minister of public security, and director of the General Staff Security Bureau.

Although Wang Dongxing holds several positions, even if he has more work, he will personally complete it. Moreover, there is one position that he has never changed, that is, he is responsible for the security of Zhongnanhai and Chairman Mao.

Chairman Mao trusted Wang Dongxing not only because he could protect his safety, but also because Wang Dongxing was willing to dedicate his life to the motherland.

In 1977, Wang Dongxing served as vice chairman and entered the Standing Committee as a cadre at the level of zhengguo. In 1979, Wang Dongxing voluntarily submitted a retirement application, believing that his position should be given to more young people, after all, young people are the future of the motherland.

In 2015, Wang Dongxing passed away, and the old man left various honors in his life journey, and his contribution will always be remembered by the world.

Luo Ruiqing

First: Luo Ruiqing

In 1924, Luo Ruiqing joined the Communist Youth League, and in 1927, Luo Ruiqing officially joined the Communist Party of China. Subsequently, he led the troops to cooperate with Chairman Mao and others to fight in Fujian.

After several years of fighting, Chairman Mao found that he and Luo Ruiqing had similar interests, so he deliberately asked him to work as a guard. With the assistance of Luo Ruiqing, Chairman Mao completed many important policy decisions.

After the founding of New China, Chairman Mao appointed Luo Ruiqing as minister of public security, and Luo Ruiqing also became the first minister of public security in the history of new China.

In the career of the two of them, Luo Ruiqing has paid great efforts for the chairman, every time he encounters a crisis, he will stand up, and the chairman often praises him with a sentence: "As long as There is Luo Ruiqing around, you can rest assured, and the sky will fall down and he will stand up." This shows the Chairman's trust in Luo Ruiqing.

Looking back on the life of the chairman now, the reason why he was able to handle the revolutionary work with peace of mind was precisely because of the silent efforts of these guards. While we miss Chairman Mao, we should also thank these guards and soldiers!
