Today, Xiaoyi recommends six beaches close to QE, beautiful scenery and complete facilities to meet everyone's endless fantasies about the seaside!
01, Whitby Beach
Whitby is an interesting seaside town about an hour and a half drive from QE with arcades on the marina, beautiful scenery and some of the most delicious fish and chips in the UK, excellent beaches for surfing, kite flying, and searching for fossils.
The village of Sandsend at the end of Whitby Beach is a popular summer destination where you can experience traditional British beach projects such as cycling, ice cream trucks and colourful beach huts in Whitby and its surrounding towns.
02, South Bay Beach
Located about an hour and a half drive from QE, South Bay Beach has soft sand, a variety of rides, and a magnificent hotel overlooking everything from the top of the cliff, from which visitors can take the historic cliff elevator to the beach.
On sunny summer days, South Bay Beach is incredibly busy and fun, so it's a good idea to plan before you travel.
03、Saltburn-by-the-sea沙滩
Located at the northern tip of the Yorkshire coast, Saltburn-by-the-Sea Beach is a very wide beach made up of beautiful yellow sand, just 1 hour drive from QE, at the north end of the Yorkshire coast and has won the Blue Flag award for its cleanliness.
At low tide, altburn-by-the-Sea beach stretches beyond the 681-foot-long Saltburn Pier, with a promenade behind the beach with several great fish and chip shops and a surf school.
The town of Saltburn sits right on a cliff overlooking the beach, and there's a historic cable car where everyone should have time to check out the Saltburn Mini Railway, which runs along the Skelton Beck River with lots of beautiful gardens along the way.
04. Filey Beach
Filey Beach is one of Yorkshire's most famous coastlines, about an hour and a twenty-minute drive from QE, and the soft yellow sand remains the main attraction of this charming Yorkshire town.
At the northern end of the beach, not far from the Filey Sailing Club is the famous Filey Brigg (where a large collection of Roman pottery and prehistoric fossils have been found), and the long, narrow peninsula is picturesque and students interested in archaeology will surely be interested here.
05, Bridlington North Beach
Bridlington North Beach is about an hour and a half drive from QE, along the lively promenade, nestled in this lovely seaside town of Bridlington North.
Home to a popular fishing destination and a small fleet of fishing boats, the fish and chip shops here are some of the best in Yorkshire. It's worth noting that there aren't many parking spaces near the beach, so be prepared to walk through the town to the sand.
06, Hornsea Beach
Hornsea Sands is about an hour and a half drive from QE and the beach itself is long with lots of facilities to choose from including cafes, beachfront cabanas and caravans.
Freeport is undoubtedly the most popular attraction on Hornsea Beach, and while it's about 1 mile inland from the beach, its numerous shops and kid-friendly attractions make it a great family destination.
