On June 17, the Ecological Environment and Natural Resources Management Bureau of the Qumalai Management Office of the Yangtze River Source Park of Sanjiangyuan National Park released the news that while the local ecological stewards were patrolling the Yangtze River Source Park, they encountered a herd of wild yaks with more than 200 wild yaks, a national first-class protected animal.

On the morning of June 16, when the weather was clear, five ecological stewards of the fifth team of Ang la Village in Qumahe Township, Qumalai County, rode motorcycles, carrying tents, clothes, food, and observation equipment, over several mountains, across several small rivers, and reached the patrol area , a plateau pasture at an altitude of more than 4,700 meters.

According to local ecological stewards, this is one of the largest wild yak habitats in Sanjiangyuan National Park and Sanjiangyuan Nature Reserve, and hundreds of wild yaks appear here every summer. According to ecological steward Tao Xi Angza, on the afternoon of the 16th, they saw a spectacular scene of more than 200 wild yaks crossing the hillside during the patrol. Taosi Onza said that starting from the 16th, five ecological stewards will follow the wild yak population for 10 consecutive days, observe and record their living habits, and strive to record more exciting pictures.
