The mysterious van is coming, and the route is kept secret

At 9 a.m., the silver-white van was particularly conspicuous. The staff of the Nanjing Municipal Museum slowly opened the trunk door, and two boxes, one black and one white, stood quietly inside.

"The box contains the cultural relics that have come to participate in the exhibition this time, so you should take it lightly and put it lightly." Yue Yong, deputy director of nanjing museum, specially reminded.

I saw the staff carry out a half-human-high white wooden box, gently place it on the four-wheeled flatbed, and slowly push forward, one person holding in front and one person following behind. When passing through the aisle door, there was a height difference of about one centimeter on the ground, they leaned down, carefully lifted the wheel, waited for this "threshold", and then gently lowered the wheel and continued to push forward...

Yue Yong told the Modern Express reporter that the two boxes contained cultural relics from the special exhibition "From the Qinhuai River to the Yangtze River", a total of 8 pieces, from the Zhenjiang Museum and the Jurong Workstation of the Jiangsu Archaeological Research Institute.

In order to welcome the arrival of these cultural relics, on May 11, Yue Yong set off from Nanjing and successively went to Zhenjiang and Jurong to hand over the cultural relics. On the way in, in order to ensure safety, the speed has been stable, almost uniform, and the route is also confidential.

Yue Yong introduced that because of the epidemic, before, everyone was worried that they would not be able to arrive in time before the opening of the exhibition. How can no artifacts be exhibited? Several cultural institutions have come up with an alternative: if the exhibits cannot arrive temporarily when they are carried out, then reserve the position first, introduce the exhibits with images or text, and then transport the exhibits in time when conditions permit. "I'm relieved to arrive safely." Yue Yong said.

Multi-layer protection to ensure the safety of cultural relics

From the car down to the exhibition hall, a few hundred meters away, the staff pushing the cultural relics box has been very smooth.

Yue Yong told the Modern Express reporter that the route for transporting cultural relics from the car to the exhibition hall was carefully designed and selected. The requirements are: convenient and relatively gentle. "In the process of transporting cultural relics, the whole process must be based on the safety of cultural relics."

The Modern Express reporter noticed that the box containing cultural relics was not only affixed with the seal of the Nanjing Municipal Museum, but also some traces left by the old seals of different museums that had been torn off.

"This is a special box, provided by a professional heritage transportation company, which is specially designed to store cultural relics and has a shockproof function." Yue Yong said that according to the norms, the cultural relics to be transported will first be packaged separately in small sac boxes, then packaged in sac boxes, and then filled in the gaps when they are put into the boxes and reinforced separately. In other words, there are actually multiple layers of protection in a box.

After entering the exhibition hall, the two boxes were properly placed and were under close surveillance. "We will implement the operation according to the requirements of the lending unit, wait for the staff of the other side to arrive, and then open the box for the exhibition." Yue Yong introduced.

What is the national treasure in the mysterious cultural relics box?

"One of them is a pottery piece excavated from the Lishui Shenxian Cave, which was borrowed from the Jurong Workstation of the Jiangsu Provincial Archaeological Research Institute." Yue Yong told the Modern Express reporter that this small piece of pottery, from the source of the Qinhuai River, is one of the heavy exhibits of this exhibition.

Shenxian Cave is located on the northwest slope of the middle section of Huifeng Mountain, 21 kilometers southeast of Lishui District, Jiangsu Province, and about 10 kilometers from The East Lushan Mountain of Lishui, the south source of the Qinhuai River.

The site of Shenxian Cave dates back about 11,000 years, the cave is divided into two layers, the upper layer is reddish-brown sandy soil, and physical specimens of animal fossils such as brown bears, porcupines and Chinese hyenas have been excavated, as well as 1 human temporal bone fossil and 1 piece of fine clay red pottery. "One of the pottery pieces borrowed in this exhibition was excavated from the site of the Lishui Immortal Cave, which is about 10,000 years old. Its surface is dark brown, rough and porous, and the firing temperature is about 700 ° C, which is the earliest pottery piece with a complete stratigraphic record found on the mainland so far. ”

In addition to the pottery pieces, from the Jurong Workstation of the Jiangsu Archaeological Research Institute, there are also 3 Paleolithic stone tools found in the Jurong area. Borrowed from the Zhenjiang Museum are 3 cultural relics excavated from the Shang Zhou Mound Tomb and a Southern Dynasty black glazed chicken head pot.
