In 1987, because so many people were missing, the Royal Canadian Police set up an investigative team.

So the investigation team disbanded after a symbolic investigation for 2 years without any results.
The police's lack of attention has made the families of the missing extremely angry, but there is little that can be done, and only a walking event is held once a year to commemorate those who have disappeared.
More and more people are missing

Says there's a super serial killer locally who specifically targets sex workers.
But for this statement, the Canadian police do not admit it, they said that most of the missing people moved elsewhere to make a living, and some of them were overdosed in contraband, playing themselves to death, there is no super serial killer.
The police are so indifferent, and the people living at the bottom are helpless except to draw a circle and curse.
In 1994, Robert's pig farm, business was sluggish, he could only sell part of the land and some real estate, cashed out 5.2 million US dollars, this robert brothers began to completely release themselves.

In 1996, Robert founded a charity called Piggy's Palace Good Times Society, and you heard it right, it's a charity that raises money by organizing big dance performances and parties.
Robert also converted a large house inside the farm into a meeting place. In this way, the pig farm was transformed into a large entertainment club.

So there is such a scene, every day when night falls, hundreds of cars, motorcycles come to the pig farm to party, the pig farm is brightly lit all night, people are crazy.

But behind the crazy party, no one will notice that one or two women are inexplicably missing at every party.

Police then arrested Robert at the hospital, facing charges of attempted murder, but the case was dismissed after paying $2,000 bail.
Because Wendy was not very clear because she smoked contraband, she could not and was unwilling to testify in court, so Robert escaped the disaster.
But after this incident, some residents called the police, saying that the recent large number of missing women is likely related to Robert, because he behaves strangely, and people often see him taking women to the pig farm, so it is necessary to check his pig farm.

The police did send police officers to the pig farm to investigate, but it was only a routine investigation, a routine question, and after looking at the pigs in the pig farm, the investigation was over.
In 1998, Robert's younger brother David was arrested for sexual assault, but that was all, and the police did not link the missing woman to the Robert brothers.

In the same year, someone provided another clue to the police, saying that in a refrigerator on Robert's farm, filled with human torsos, the police who learned of this matter immediately approached Robert for questioning, and Robert of course denied it, and specifically emphasized:

In this way, although from 1997 to 1999, there were many clues pointing to Robert, but the Canadian police, like blind people, missed the opportunity many times for the murderer in front of them.

Because the crime occurred close to the United States, the United States also reported on the crime in the program "American Wanted" and offered a reward of $100,000 with great fanfare.

In early February 2002, Scott Chubb, a driver who had worked at Robert's house, told the Royal Canadian Police that he had seen several guns at Robert's house.

What's more, police found handcuffs, women's clothes, shoes and jewelry in Robert's trailer, as well as an asthma inhaler that belonged to a missing woman named Sereena Abotsway.

On February 22, 2002, the demon Robert was finally arrested and charged with the murder of Serena and Mona.

The police had reason to suspect that the missing women had been poisoned by Robert, so a carpet search of the pig farm, oh no, should be carried out: "archaeological excavations".

The Canadian police mobilized a lot of heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, dump trucks, two 15-meter-long flat conveyor belts, soil screening machines, etc., to carry out meticulous excavations of pig farms and farms.

The case was also a headache for the forensic department, because the pig farm farm was so big that it was a very time-consuming and laborious project to screen for evidence from every inch of soil and then test it.

The final forensic work continued until November 2003, when archaeologists and forensic experts screened nearly 300,000 cubic meters of soil (383,000 cubic yards) using a variety of heavy equipment.
200,000 DNA samples were collected and 600,000 pieces of evidence were seized, making it the largest forensic investigation in Canadian history and cost the government $70 million.
The end result was that about 80 unidentified DNA profiles were found, half male and half female.

The farm was searched for 2 years and sealed off by the government, but the crimes against Robert have not yet been counted.
On 26 May 2005, 12 more charges were made against Robert, bringing the total number of first-degree murder charges to 27. Robert became Canada's largest serial killer ever. His pig farm also became the largest crime scene in Canadian history.

In 2007, the trial continued, and one of the 27 charges was dismissed because of insufficient evidence.
The remaining 26 items were divided into 2 groups, one group was 6 items and the other group was 20 items.
On December 9, the jury acquitted Robert's first group of six counts of first-degree murder, but second-degree murder.

He was eventually sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for 25 years, which is already the highest penalty for second-degree murder because Canada has abolished the death penalty.
Another 20 charges would have been tried, but it was not necessary because even if he were found guilty, his sentence would not have increased, and his sentence was already the highest under Canadian law.
What's more, these 20 allegations, I don't know how much money it will cost, the Canadian government has spent too much on this case, and feels that there is no need to waste money on it.

In December 2012, the Commission of Inquiry into Missing Women released its final report, "Forsaken" (Forsaken).
The report said the Canadian police were responsible for the case, when police incompetence in the investigation, combined with police and societal prejudice against sex workers and Aboriginal women, led to an "unprecedented tragedy".
In prison, Robert continued to toss and turn, and even published an autobiography, which was said to have been secretly handed over to others to take out of the prison, and then published and sold.
However, due to the horror of the content, it set off public outrage, and eventually the book was removed from the shelves.
